Introducing the Agito Networks RoamAnywhereTM Solution About the Agito Networks RoamAnywhere Solution
Agito Networks brings enterprise Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), WiFi, and cellular together to do the following:
Reduce cellular costs
Increase in-building coverage
Increase the visibility and control of mobile communications
The RoamAnywhere solution is designed to maximize the use of the enterprise WiFi network when in the office, employing the routing intelligence to hand over a call to the cellular network as you walk out of the building. Additionally, if you are on a cellular call and you walk into the building, the routing intelligence hands over the call from the cellular network to the WiFi network seamlessly. The Mobility Router also hosts the following:
z
RoamAnywhere Administration Portal—Allows administrators to easily configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot the RoamAnywhere Mobility Router. RoamAnywhere User Portal—Allows you to customize your calling experience to better control communication based on various factors, including time of day, calling filters, and your location.
RoamAnywhere client application, enabling a secure, adaptive provisioning process that allows you to easily connect to the enterprise.
RoamAnywhere Dialer—This application is designed to become the primary dialer interface after installation. You can make and receive calls using the mobile device’s native dialing behavior. You have access to native Log, native Contacts, and advanced calling features such as Bluetooth, voice dialing, and speed dialing. The RoamAnywhere Dialer extends key features of the enterprise PBX to enable you to make and receive calls as you would on the enterprise desk phone. You can also use RoamAnywhere Dialer to do the following:
Transfer calls to your desk phone or another phone number.
Originate ad-hoc conference calls.
Access enterprise and cellular voice mail.
If configured by the system administrator, you can place and receive calls using Secure Remote Voice when connected to a remote WiFi network. You can also use secure enterprise services when connected to a remote WiFi network or cellular packet-data network if your system administrator has configured access for your account.
2
RoamAnywhere Calibrate—This application allows administrators to create Route Points, monitor RF characteristics within the enterprise wireless LAN (WLAN), and simulate routing behavior for handover between WiFi and cellular networks.

Managing Calls Placing Calls
Making a Call To make a call with RoamAnywhere Dialer, proceed as you normally would to make a call. You can enter the phone number while in standby mode or with the RoamAnywhere Dialer main screen active. You can also use the mobile device’s Contacts and Log lists to make calls. If you are using RoamAnywhere Dialer to make a call over the cellular network, the call is initially routed to the enterprise before being placed to the number you are calling. The following types of calls are not routed through the enterprise: z
Emergency calls (for example, 911 in the United States or 112 in European Union countries).
z
Direct call number defined in server dial plan (for example, 411).
z
Calls with numbers starting with an asterisk (*) or the pound sign (#) (for example, *646# to check remaining cellular plan minutes).
z
Personal-mode calls (calls placed with personal mode enabled and to contacts in the Agito Personal group)
z
Calls to cellular voice mail.
The RoamAnywhere Dialer user interface does not appear for any calls that are not routed through the enterprise. You cannot place or receive enterprise calls while you are on a call that is not routed through the enterprise. To make a call: 1
In standby mode or with the RoamAnywhere Dialer main screen active, enter the phone number. NOTE When placing a call to a phone number that is not an enterprise phone
number, make sure that the number includes the area code if it is different from the default area code of the enterprise PBX. Contact your system administrator if you do not know the area code for the enterprise PBX. When making a call to an enterprise extension, you do not need to include an area code. If the mobile device was in standby mode when you dialed the phone number, the RoamAnywhere main screen appears. 2
Press the Call key. The call is placed.
If you are on a call and the call is handed over from the enterprise WiFi network to the cellular network, you might notice that the RoamAnywhere Dialer user interface disappears briefly before appearing after the handover to the cellular network.
Placing a Call While on an Active Call You can make another call while on an active call by doing the following: 1

NOTE If you are on a call using the enterprise network and enter the direct call number defined in server dial plan number (for example, 411) or a phone number that starts with an asterisk (*) or pound sign (#), the call on the enterprise network is dropped.
Calls to three-digit numbers or numbers starting with an asterisk or pound sign are placed directly using the cellular network and not routed through RoamAnywhere Dialer. You cannot simultaneously have an enterprise network call and a call routed directly through the cellular carrier’s network on the mobile device. 3
Press the green Call key. When the new call is being placed, the original call is put on hold.
You can also use the following methods to make another call while on an active call: z
Use your mobile device’s Contacts or Log.
z
Dial the phone number, and press the green Call key.
The original call is put on hold when the new call is placed. If you dial the number for a new call, you can put the original call on hold if you do not want the person on that call to hear you dialing the number. For more information about putting a call on hold, see “Placing an Active Call on Hold” on page 45. If you have an active call and a call on hold, you can switch between the calls. For more information about switching between active calls, see “Switching Between Calls” on page 45.
Placing Calls Using Directory Query For information about how to place a call using a match from a directory query, see “Placing a Call Using a Directory Search Match” on page 65.
Managing Personal Mode By default, when you place a call with your mobile device while running RoamAnywhere Dialer, the call is routed through the enterprise, and the caller ID for your mobile device is your enterprise phone number. Calls routed through the enterprise give you access to one enterprise phone number, enterprise PBX features, and other features such as conference calling and transfer-to-desk-functionality. There might be occasions on which you want to place a call that is not routed through the enterprise and uses the phone number of the SIM card of your mobile device (for example, when calling someone who will not be charged cellular minutes if the call is from the phone number of your mobile device).

Managing Calls Managing Personal Mode
The RoamAnywhere Dialer supports the Dual Persona feature, enabling personal mode. This feature allows you to place calls directly over the cellular network (not routed through the enterprise) and use the phone number associated with the SIM card of your mobile device as the caller ID. For example, if your enterprise phone number is 919-8000, this number is used as the caller ID when you make phone calls that are routed through the enterprise. If the phone number of your SIM card is 555-4442, when you place a call with personal mode enabled, the caller ID used is 555-4442, and the call is directly placed over the cellular network. For information about enabling personal mode, see “Enabling Personal Mode” on page 42. When you enable personal mode, it stays in effect only for the next call that you place. To make another call using personal mode, you must enable personal mode again before you place the call. If there are phone numbers that you frequently call using personal mode, you can create an Agito Personal group that contains contacts for those phone numbers. When you call those contacts, the calls are automatically made in personal mode. For information about creating an Agito Personal group, see “Creating the Agito Personal Group” on page 43.
Enabling Personal Mode By default, personal mode is disabled. To enable personal mode, select Options > Set Personal Mode. The personal-mode icon appears on the screen to indicate that personal mode is enabled, as shown in Figure 5-4. Figure 5-4. Example of Personal Mode Enabled

Disabling Personal Mode Personal mode is enabled until you have placed and ended a call or if you manually disable personal mode. To manually disable personal mode, select Options > Reset Personal Mode.
Creating the Agito Personal Group If there are people that you call often with personal mode enabled, you can add these contacts to a group named Agito Personal. The Agito Personal group is accessible as one of the groups in Contacts. When you call anyone in the Agito Personal group, the call is always placed with personal mode enabled. To create a personal group: 1

Using Contacts and Log to Place Calls from RoamAnywhere Dialer You can use the Contacts and Log on your mobile device in conjunction with RoamAnywhere Dialer. To make calls from Contacts and Log using the enterprise network, you must have a SIM card in the mobile device. If your mobile device does not have a SIM card, you cannot use Contacts or Log to make calls using the enterprise WiFi network, but you can make calls using the enterprise WiFi network if you dial the number from within the RoamAnywhere Dialer main screen. You can also still make emergency calls if there is no SIM card in the mobile device, provided that your cellular carrier supports this functionality.
Using Contacts to Place Calls From the RoamAnywhere Dialer main screen, press the right selection key to select Contacts and access Contacts on your mobile device.
Using Log to Place Calls For information about how to access Log and use it to place calls, see the documentation for your mobile device.
Making Emergency Calls To make a call to an emergency number, dial the emergency number as you normally would. Calls placed to emergency numbers are not routed through the enterprise. If you are on a call using the enterprise WiFi network and make a call to an emergency number, the non-emergency call is dropped. You can also make emergency calls if there is no SIM card in the mobile device if your cellular service provider supports this feature.

How Outgoing Cellular Calls Are Listed in Your Bill By default, when RoamAnywhere Dialer is running, any outgoing calls you place while on the cellular network are routed through the enterprise (using an enterprise access number assigned by your system administrator) before being placed to the phone number you are trying to call. When you make calls while connected to your corporate or remote (if your system supports Secure Remote Voice) WiFi network, these calls are not listed in your cellular bill. When you receive your cellular bill, any outgoing calls placed using the cellular network while RoamAnywhere Dialer was running are not listed as the phone numbers that you placed calls to. All outgoing calls list the enterprise access number as the number that was called, rather than the phone number that was dialed. For example, if you placed a call to (408) 919-8000 and the enterprise access number is (408) 555-1515, the number that appears on your phone bill is not listed as (408) 919-8000. Rather, it is listed as (408) 555-1515. For information about your company’s enterprise access number, see your system administrator. If you or your system administrator changed the default setting so that some or all outgoing calls made while on the cellular network are placed directly over the cellular network, those calls will be included in your bill. Any calls that you made with personal mode enabled or to contacts that are in the Agito Personal group appear in your bill.
Changing Call Settings You can specify how calls to your enterprise phone number get routed to your mobile device. You can specify one of the following options:
Version 3.0
z
Call Forward—Forward all calls to a specified phone number or voice mail.
z
Do Not Disturb (DND)—Have your desk phone ring and mobile device not ring for all incoming calls.
z
Transfer to Desk—Define the enterprise phone number that is used when you transfer calls to your desk phone. By default, the extension of your enterprise phone number is used when transferring an active call from your mobile device to your desk phone.
z
Reverse Dial —Using this feature can potentially reduce the cost of the call. This number enables the calling party to pay for the call, automatically changing an outbound mobile call into an inbound call. This feature is only available only when a data connection is available (wifi/packet data). The conference feature is not supported in reverse dial mode.

Secure remote access allows you to use the following features: z
Secure Remote Voice (if your RoamAnywhereTM solution is licensed for it) Secure Remote Voice allows you to securely place and receive calls using any WiFi network outside of the enterprise. Secure Remote Voice uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to ensure that your calls are secure. You can Secure Remote Voice from home or any other WiFi hotspot and have access to PBX and desk-phone features, just as you do when you are in the enterprise.
z
Secure enterprise services Secure enterprise services, such as directory query and managing home locations, are accessed using a WiFi network that is not in the enterprise network or a cellular packet-data network.
Depending on how your system administrator configured your account, you might have access to Secure Remote Voice or secure enterprise services or both. Contact your system administrator if you are not sure whether you have secure remote access enabled on your account. This chapter contains the following sections:

Using Location Management
8
Using RoamAnywhere Dialer, you can specify a WiFi network outside of the enterprise as a home location. Creating a home location allows you to use that location as criteria when defining how outgoing cellular calls are routed and defining calling rules. This chapter contains the following sections: z
Verifying Secure Enterprise Services Availability on page 67
z
Adding Home Locations on page 67
z
Deleting Home Locations on page 69
Verifying Secure Enterprise Services Availability You can create a home location for a remote WiFi network only if your account is configured to access secure enterprise services. If you are not sure whether your account has been configured to access secure enterprise services, ask your system administrator.
Adding Home Locations When you are at home or another remote location that has a WiFi network, you can use RoamAnywhere Dialer to create a home location, which defines information about the WiFi access point, such as the service set identifier (SSID) and basic service set identifier (BSSID). When you create a home location using RoamAnywhere Dialer, the location information is automatically sent to the Mobility Router, which allows it to route outgoing cellular calls based on your location. If you define calling rules, you can use location as criteria to define how calls are routed.

Using Location Management Adding Home Locations
If you use RoamAnywhere Dialer to create a home location, there are two methods you can use: z
Automatic—Use this method if you do not know the SSID of the access point, need to specify a particular SSID, or do not need to specify multiple BSSIDs of the WiFi access point. When you use the automatic method, you cannot specify SSID for the home location. The SSID of the access point is automatically used. If there are multiple SSIDs at the location, the first SSID that RoamAnywhere Dialer detects is the one used.
z
Manual—Use this method if you want to specify a particular SSID (for example, the location has multiple SSIDs), or know that the WiFi access point has multiple BSSIDs and you want to define specific BSSIDs for the home location.
Each home location must have a unique SSID. In addition to managing home locations with RoamAnywhere Dialer, you can also manage home locations with the User Portal, as described in the RoamAnywhere User Portal Guide. To add a home location: 1
In the RoamAnywhere Dialer main screen, select Options > Preferences.
