On his way to becoming the 43rd governor of Pennsylvania, Republican Tom Ridge enlisted his brother, David Ridge ’82, to lead his first successful political campaign for Congress, representing Pennsylvania’s 21st District. Later, as governor, Ridge relied on other Allegheny College alumni to fill top positions in his administration. Among them: Mark Campbell ’82, who was Ridge’s right-hand man as chief of staff; Ann DiTullio ’60, who served as director of Ridge’s northwest regional office; Richard Brodie ’69, who was named secretary of aging; and Tim Reeves ’83, who managed
the media as press secretary.
