Live recording, at the Library of Congress in Washington DC, by two of jazz’s greatest living improvisers—and a sequel to their widely acclaimed A Duet of One album! • This is the sequel to the memorable live recordings issued a couple of years ago by Grammy winner Eddie Daniels and Roger Kellaway at LA’s Jazz Bakery.
• Recorded live at Library of Congress in Washington DC. • Includes some tunes from Roger Kellaway’s score for Bergman’s America project. • Promotion through Jazz Promo Services. • Radio through Michael Hurzon. • Review will appear in February issue of DownBeat, on stands mid-January. Roger Kellaway: piano Eddie Daniels: clarinet Track Listing • Strike Up the Band • Capriccio Twilight • Somewhere • Rhythm-a-ning • America the Beautiful • Etude of a Woman/Pretty Women • Just Friends • A Place that You Want to Call Home • 50 State Rambler “Clarinetist Eddie Daniels and pianist Roger Kellaway have been both revered and sublimated by critics and listeners during their long and sometimes obscured careers. Make no mistake, though—they are great musicians who somehow do not get the credit they deserve as true jazz masters … This is a wondrous duet date featuring extraordinary musicians taking chances and thankfully succeeding on all levels, not the least of which are in the enviable elements of pace, placement, and depth.” — Billboard “Roger Kellaway is a real treat to hear, an underrated player with a sound that mixes touches of Art Tatum and Tin Pan Alley with distinctly modern swing. He consistently finds the right spot for every key, up and down the board.” — All About Jazz “Eddie Daniels’ flawless technique belies the subtlety of his tone. His sound is always clean, whether at deep lows or glass cracking highs. At any given moment, he can quote delicate classical repertoire, or reach down for some soul.” — All About Jazz Key Markets: Hometown: Los Angeles, Santa Fe. Also: New York

The distinctive, ethereal sound of his guitar has been at the heart of their sound since 2004, including the albums Ma Fleur, Live at the Royal Albert Hall, and the award-winning soundtrack The Crimson Wing. • Stuart’s own music, influenced by jazz and DJ culture, is a distillation of many influences from Wes Montgomery and Björk to Flying Lotus and Bon Iver. • This brilliant third album, and first for Naim, is a culmination of the music Stuart has written over the last few years. Here, he ‘sampled’ the best bits of his compositions, using them as the basis for further writing, before again sampling the results, and so on, until arriving at a perfectly distilled version of what he wanted to say. • Features legendary New York bassist Ira Coleman. • Press campaign by Jim Eigo, Jazz Promo Services.

JAZZ • German pianist Joachim Kühn could have had a career in classical music had he not developed an enthusiasm for jazz under the influence of his older brother, clarinetist Rolf Kühn. • After leaving his natal Leipzig, then still under communist yoke, the young Bach fan arrived in Paris in 1968 in the midst of the free jazz movement. His meetings with Don Cherry, Aldo Romano, Gato Barbieri, Archie Shepp, and Roswell Rudd were determining. Transcending borders, he alternated between duos with Ornette Coleman, encounters with young classical pianist Michael Wollny, and the Mediterranean trio he formed with Ramon Lopez and Majid Bekkas. • On Free Ibiza, this key figure of the European jazz scene lays bare the qualities that were already obvious on his first solo recording from 1971. Romantic, passionate, introspective, and sometimes demonstrative, Joachim Kühn manages to attain a kind of serenity—his Ibiza is not that of DJs and high-level decibels. BLUES • The debut solo album by Ramon Goose, which sees him delving further into his love of blues and blues-rock. • Ramon originally established himself as the guitarist, chief songwriter, producer, and driving force behind acclaimed British band NuBlues. He also worked with Senegalese star Diabel Cissokho, and his most recent new venture is the West African Blues Project. • For this collection, Ramon and his fellow musicians sought to go back to the days when musicians made music together regardless of what “genre” they came from; a time when jazz and blues were easy bedfellows. • Promo copies mailed to various magazines, radio stations, and websites. • One of the last living true country blues artists, Eddie Cusic was born on January 4, 1926 just south of Leland, and grew up helping his family tend the fields. He got his first taste of guitar, like many before him, by playing the one-stringed diddly-bow with a knife or broken bottleneck. • When the 1950s rolled around, Eddie formed the Rhythm Aces with blues legend Little Milton Campbell. Campbell has long attested to the early influence that Eddie had on his style. • It’s easy to romanticize Eddie. By day, he is an undiscovered bluesman toiling in a mundane job. By night, he is a blues troubadour, using his rough-hewn vocals, powerful string snapping, and wonderfully refrained timing to provide the fuel for his late-night house party romps. Quite simply, Eddie bleeds delta blues. • While most of Eddie’s repertoire consists of well-worn classics, he is a wonderful interpreter of the tradition, melding these blues standards into something wholly original. • Promo CDs to radio stations and magazines. ROCK/METAL • After Axl Rose split from his previous group in order to front Guns N’ Roses and become the biggest rock star in the universe, Tracii Guns went on to forge his own multi-million-selling career band: L.A. Guns. • This double-disc extravaganza features the band’s comeback album, Man in the Moon, on which a reunited and revitalized near-original line-up got back together for the first time in over five years and spiced up their ’80s West Coast sleaze rock with memorable hooks and modern rock. • Tracii and vocalist Phil Lewis then created a rock-solid follow-up, which was as much a triumph for producer Andy Johns as it was for the band. Waking the Dead is a brilliant collision between flashy late 1980s rock and today’s heavier, more powerful version of the genre. It is without doubt the best L.A. Guns album yet! • Promo copies mailed to various magazines, radio stations, and websites.

• Beneath the hype and exhilarating days of the ’80s Los Angeles hard rock and glam scene, there were bursts of brilliance from King Kobra, who boasted memorable songs, fine playing, and exciting performances. • Formed by drummer extraordinaire Carmine Appice, already a legend thanks to his involvement with—among others—Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, Ted Nugent, Rod Stewart, and Jeff Beck. • After two successful albums on Capitol Records, plus a third released on Carmine’s own Rocker label, he decided to dissolve the band and join guitarist John Sykes on his Blue Murder project. • In 2001 Carmine emerged with a new King Kobra line-up and struck again with Hollywood Trash, but subsequently dedicated himself to other projects over the next decade. Then, in 2010, a new KK emerged and released an album on the Frontiers label. • Promo copies mailed to various magazines, radio stations, and websites.

Joanne McIver & Christophe Saunière The Cannie Hour Joanne McIver and Christophe Saunière present a new album immersed in the Scottish tradition. Its title, The Cannie Hour, comes from a song by Robert Burns, and Joanne and Christophe are joined by some fantastic guest musicians, notably a string quartet of internationally renowned musicians. Inspiration for the songs came from all sorts of different sources: books, an ancient fairy tale, an emigrant’s letter home to his parents, a distant Scottish island called St. Kilda, the artists’ grandparents, and a school friend’s fear of ghosts.

WORLD • This album, the tenth volume in the Musical Heritage of the Jews of France collection released by the Fondation du Judaïsme Français, was recorded on the occasion of a concert of Jewish Baroque music organized by the Yuval Association as a tribute to its founder, Israel Adler. • Interpreted by the Texto Ensemble, a professional choir of eight singers, these 13 compositions by Salamone Rossi, Abraham Caceres, and Giuseppe Lidarti constitute a unique testimony to the richness of this Jewish musical practice from the Baroque era up to the beginnings of the galant style. • In the early 17th century, the ducal court of Mantua welcomed many Jewish musicians, among them Salamone Rossi. In 1622–23, Rossi published a collection of 33 choruses for three to eight parts intended for the synagogue. This attraction for erudite polyphonic music extended to Jewish communities in Provence and Amsterdam. The various Jewish brotherhoods sometimes had hymns and small dramatic pieces especially written for weddings, circumcisions, and other celebrations. Some of these new tunes were so appreciated by the public that they entered the repertoire of traditional songs, where they have remained up to the present day. • Features 79 minutes of music; contains a booklet with richly documented liner notes in French and English.
