Allen Cherer

A graduate of the University of Virginia and the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Allen Cherer completed his Pediatrics training at Kosair Children's Hospital at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He was then commissioned in the United States Air Force Medical Corps and served as Chief of Pediatrics at USAF Regional Hospital Minot (North Dakota). Following his military service, Dr. Cherer completed a neonatal-perinatal fellowship in the Joint Program in Neonatology at Harvard Medical School and additional training in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Children's Hospital Boston. Since his training, Dr. Cherer has assisted in the care of thousands of sick newborns in Georgia, California, and North Carolina. He has served as a hospital physician leader in the development of teams to safely transport sick newborns requiring more intensive care from community hospitals.
