Tips to Select Strongroom Doors/Vaults Selecting a reliable strongroom door for your strong room vault is a major effort that demands time and money to ensure your treasure chest lasts for a lifetime or more.

Choose your strong room vault based upon these factors: • Protection rating • Weight • Commercial grade locks

1) Protection Rating: Consider the thickness you want. You don’t have to install a 10,000 lb vault door for a vault room made out of plywood, the burglar can easily cut through the wall. Build an 8 strong room vault and fix an E-Rate vault door that ensures long lasting and reliable protection.

2) Weight: Weight of a strong room vault door is synonymous to its strength. For a maximum strength, choose a door that has at least 1“solid steel barrier material and weighs a minimum of 2000 lbs. Anything less than this means it is cheap sheet steel wrapped with fire lining material. If the manufacturer has no weight specification in his list, then it is a fake.

3) Commercial grade locks: Strong room vault doors must have only U.L approved Group 2 locks. Check with the manufacturer as there are a number of cheap Chinese locks that are installed to cut off production costs. Ensure that the lock is a commercial grade lock.
