BRIDGE ARM ATTACHED TO RAILING
How about a resort built on one of the Maldivesan sinking islands in memo of the sea level rising? As we know, the Maldives can be the first island country that will get submerged in the near future, thus making the gradual sinking process a unique experience for people to see. Since vistors are albe to witness how climate changes a scenery time by time, more attention will be gathered around this vital topic.
THE BRDGE ARM PERSPECTIVE VIEW
THE SPIRAL FORM PERSPECTIVE
Location: Maldives Himmafushi Year: 2014 Type: Experimental Project Background Information Of Sea-level Rising
Sinking Hotel "the TIMER"
MAIN UNDER WATER PROGRAM INTERIOR TRAFFIC LINE ABOVE SEA LEVEL PROGRAM EXTORIOR TRAFFIC LINE
Circulation with Surrounding Environment With sea levels expected to rise by as much as three feet by the year 2100, in large part due to climate change, low-lying countries and coastal cities face an unprecedented challenge this century. Recent research indicated that in the next several centuries, average global sea levels could rise somewhere between 18 and 29 feet, explains Climate Central, a nonprofit climate news and research organization. Much of this potential sea level rise may be spurred by glacial melting in the world's polar regions. James Hansen, a professor at Columbia University and head of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, has said that the global goal to limit atmospheric warming to 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit (2 degrees Celsius) "is actually a prescription for long-term disaster." Hansen fears, LiveScience reported, that with warming of two degrees, we could see an icefree Arctic and a notable rise in sea-levels by tens of meters.
Main Programs F=MA V=at L=Vt SInL=SEA LEVEL RISING The rotating bridge is enpowered by the floating force Thus pointing to each island indicating every past decades
Rotating bridge arm indicates the sea level changing process, giving longterm waring From inside we have a view looking up at the sea level forming an attractive light enviroment. It's not only visually appealling but also mentally imposing. By getting familiar with the resort, you will have an idea of the local sea animals and how the sea level changes their habitat. The underwater space is shaped in curvy surface with structual intent to support a huge pressure, at the sametime following the formation of the rail which the rotating bridge attaches to. As sea level keep rising, the accumulated buoyancy will keep pushing the bridge arm upward. At the same time, the bult in rail only provides the bridge arm to be rotating along one direction, thus looking from above, a timer of how sea level changes is established.

SWIMMING POOL SIGHT VIEWING CORRIDOR HOTEL ROOMS UNDERWATER AQUARIUM RETAIL WATER SPORT ATRIUM BASEMENT
One had a chance living in this hotel at his 10 when the room was still above the sea level. After 20 years when he come back living in the same room which has already submerged by sea water, his inner echo is going to strike his concious heavily and ask a question. Should it be right? Memory is the most impressive adjuster and the factor in terms of influencing our future for its better possibility. This design is actually an idea of creating the memory creator for more climate change awareness and maybe a better future. Around the hotel is a few surrounding markers indicating each every decades that has just past. How does it work and what does it mean? The bridge arm will rotate along the built in spiral track along the main tower as if an indicator pointing at the current year measured by correspondent sea level powered by the buoyancy of the rising. It would mimic a clock looking from above. On the other hand, people who have spend time in there would get a personal view of how the climate change affects out planet.

Spring Blvd sidewalk renovation along lightrail We have to reconsider the arragnement of a lot of elements along this sidewalk as they all have to be integrated into the newly designed lightrail station and the crossing renovated 130th Blvd. As a part of the whole project covering the vinicity, the recepticle, paving, tree, width of all sections and seaquence should all be rearranged accordingly. For the right type of tree should be selected to render the neighborhood, the color reflection should be set to a correct temperature, we did a lot test to find the right anwser.

Parking circulations are mainly dominant by the influence of the tower collumns and the cores. Standard parking space are calculated according to local building code.

The atrium are surrounded by the group of annex podiums with space corridors cross. The organization is consists of basement and the interaction of interior and exterior space.

FX+1
Located in Dalian, northeast of China. The intention of this project was to bring a new stimulus for this particular historical district to provide a possibility for its revitalization. Rezoning and redefining the program within this area would herhaps bring progressive changes to people who live nearby. The accessibility of the pedestrain and vehicle circulation were to be rearranged to update the old rigid layout. To optimise the poject's accessibility through adding more passways that directly connects into the atrium of the three towers would bring this city surface more exposed towards the local people and attracts more commercial potentials.
Light Interaction
FX+N
Podium Section
The curent condition of the site that in disorder requires connections with each other in a logic way. Friendly scale and interesting architecture features can be something appealing to recreate the site's connection to the Railway Station on its northeast and the Yujing Center which is a city required max height, meanwhile reforming a continous city skyline.
Northwest man View In the past decades, the city rennovation process has monopoly the direction of the development and making it become another macro scale block that needs to be unpuzzled. The need for more housing makes the diversity went through the roof and along with it, cummunity amenity like this would be highly valued. It's also a challenging to deal with the historical traits and heritage in these reamin buildings. The site is facing a plaza where big event and performance could be held, so we tried to maintain the old looking without actually changing the facade around the plaza but only build on top or behind it.
Discomposition Axon

Robertson Lane Hotel
Elevation presentation rendering The rearrangement of the factory offered us a possibility to have a middle lane splitting the complex mass into two areas while it started to string up the whole area including WEHO Park and Design Center together in a macro scale.
Year: 2017 Status: SD Firm: HPlusF Acted as: Modeler/Drafter
Ground level plan To preserve and reuse an existing historical factory on the site, we discussed with City and Historic Preservation and came up with an idea of rotating the factory for 90 degrees. In this way, the building would be better programed to join with the new hotel podium and at the same time reutilize its original material.
Sunset Mixed use is a project located at the intersection of La Cienega Blvd and Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood where traffic density become a crucial design challenge we have to face. The solution was mainly focusing on how we can have a parking entrance open to the main street which may potentially slow down the traffic, otherwise we will have to consider strategy such as moving the valet reception down to the P1 level combining automated parking for P2 and P3 in order to gain sufficient parking spots as required.
Parking Ramp Lighting Schemes
Sunset Blvd Mixed Use Year: 2017 Status: SD Firm: HPlusF Acted as: Modeler/Drafter
What's more, the space underground is relatively compact and restricted since the site is on a city border which we can't cross. In order to compare different schemes to see which would work better for the interest of the client and city, our project manager has been consistently contacting people from all aspects and I listened to what they have to say and propose several possible parking circulation options for further discussion. It was not until last month did everyone finally agreed with the latest version that met most of the needs.
FROST AUDITORIUM Ticket booth elevations and sections Year: 2017 Status: Built Firm: HPlusF Acted as: Drafter
The Frost has been an interesting place in the high school. Giving it a colorful fresh new look would revitalize this historical building and making it great again. The ticketing booth is a highlight part painted blue in the background color of orange which makes it stands out more. The solid cube in its form is contrasting with a lot of visible curves and its alignment with the glass mullion creates a very gentle and respectful relation inbetween each matterials

The primitive concept of reinventing the city based on traffic Considering traffic system is the foundation of a city network, we reinvented the road systems trying to solve all kinds of traffic issues we have encountered nowadays. In order to make it more efficient and intelligent, we extracted the road from the original city and replaced typical intersection with none stopping connections to be another layer. The new circulation will be relying on self navigation and hyperloop technology, so that the citizens will be able to move around while staying in the pods, their new moving home.

LINEAR CITY (Cyber Village)
Deviated transporting system in a storied city structure We chose to extract and build different layers for a linear city
Linear City was how the city arranged in a certain demension where transportation largely happens in the aligned tube trails. The advantage of isolating transportation from a typical city was that it solves the problem of traffic jam and unnecessary intersactions of those we deal with every day will stand out of our way.

Top Layer Plan
THE LINEAR CYBER CITY
Regrouping of City Layers with different program There are mainly four lanes aligning with the linear city direction. This layout allows the vehicles to be moving along/in the rail in certain speed which smoothly connected to any portals in the city. The way of the vehicles moves are generally depending on self navigation. In future style of living, technology of city organization will become more supportive and intelligent. Based on certain rules of transportation, the renewed system will benefit the conventional issue of city planning by having friendly living environment stay on top but all production industry and infrustracture underbneath.

The tower where driving pods resides
Personalized pods provide people with personal living span. After anyone who stays in his pod for a certain amount of time, the pod will reach it’s life’s end, the bottom of the towel. That setting of giving pods a birth and end made the memory unique and would provide a successive source of temporary stay in city areas. The structure frame of the building is formed by tubes other than supported floors slabs, which means there is no fixed slab but elevated personal pods at different elevation determined by their left lifespan. The building as a whole is given life by metabolizing. The reuse of printable pods are also alive as they exist particularly for the people who will live in there and vanish with their left.
Pods-Metabolism
3D PRINTED RECYCABLE PODS
Life starts at the top of the building under the main printer. As the pod gradually dropping through the tube, the pods are approaching their life of recycle again as they reach the bottom. Costumized pods are crunshed and reused for a new life after the material get collected and transported back to the top printer again.
The pods are printed by powder materials that can be stored and sprayed to form certain pods with customized partition wall at the top of the residential tower and reused by crushed again into powder at the bottom of the building. The cycling of material provides a greater capacity of energy saving by cutting down the material transporting and preparing. THE CONVERTIBLE CELL The purpose of the design is to provide a flexiable and movable private space for people to keep away from over-crowed, bad weathers, noisies and even climate change. On the other hand, this device could also prevent personal activities disturbing the outsides.

Shadow Concept
Waving pattern ‘Shadow Capturer’ has inherited its kinetic logic from arm’s moving. Based on study of geometry motion in several ways, linkage systems, a long series of oscillating units are connected with an offset in their initial start phase. This phase delay enables a wave like motion and the primary performance of our design: generating a flow. And we captured that flow to be a movable sheid
