When school is out, camp is in! Half-day, full-day and week-long options will suit your schedule while our unique themes will excite and inspire. All camps are well-supervised and super fun!
Full Day Camps
CAMP STAR - SPRING BREAK
Campers engage in one week of fun with a variety of indoor/outdoor activities, arts and crafts. They will need to bring a lunch each day and at minimum, must be in Kindergarten and may not exceed the 6th grade.
Trek into exciting STEM projects, creative art activities, and actionpacked sports! Campers will enjoy hands-on learning and play, topped off with an exciting field trip adventure. It’s the perfect way to make Spring Break memories with new friends while exploring Terrell Recreation Center.
Boom, splat, slime, ooz, fizz - have a blast and make a mess exploring the science behind chemical reactions! Create quicksand simulation, slime, flubber, a foam machine, mad scientist bubble lab and more! (B3)
Young students will dance their first steps in ballet to a compilation of music from classical to contemporary while imaging the world of fairies and forest animals. Emphasis is on the fun while learning correct positions and basic steps. Parent provided snack and crafts round out the fun! (C. Mooney)
Participants will engage in hands-on activities, shaping their distinctive clay characters, crafting a script, developing, a storyboard, and ultimately producing an animated short film featuring their characters. (S. Nanjiani)
Participants in our film making workshop will learn pre-production techniques, scriptwriting, and production fundamentals like composition, shot selection, filming, acting, and postproduction concepts of editing and special effects under the direction of a qualified video professional instructor. SKYHAWKS FLAG FOOTBALL CAMP
Using a curriculum developed by the experts from USA Football, coaches will teach skills like passing, receiving, kicking, and flag pulling. Participants will gain confidence and learn important life lessons in a fun, positive environment. (Skyhawks Staff)
Campers improve their soccer skills and technical knowledge, while practicing teamwork and sportsmanship. Areas of focus include dribbling, passing, shooting and ball control. (Skyhawks Sports Academy)
Create beautiful landscapes, seascapes, florals and animals with Certified Robert Garden Art Instructor. Young artists explore artistic techniques and creative thinking, not crafts, mastering 4 different mediums; painting with acrylics, watercolors, drawing with charcoal and oil pastels. From beginner instructional lessons through life-saving American Red Cross certification courses, Don Rodenbaugh Aquatics Center and Ford Pool have the program for you. All abilities and levels are welcome!

PROJECT UPDATES
Projects: Recently Completed
Molsen Trailhead
The Trailhead features restrooms, bike racks, a water fountain, seating, and farm inspired structures like lean-to sheds and split rail fencing. Two scenic concrete trails cross restored Blackland prairie and a pecan grove, linking the Trailhead to Plano’s trail system. This connection offers easy access from nearby neighborhoods and Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve.
New spectator shade structure at Bolin Park
Spectators at Bolin Park will beat the heat with a brand new shade structure over both baseball seating areas, providing a cooler, more comfortable experience for cheering on games. Construction begins in December 2024 and will complete in January 2025.

Allen Station Park Playground
The existing playground at Allen Station Park is being replaced and will soon be home to an all-new, locomotive-themed playground. Construction is estimated be completed by mid-2025.
Lost Creek Park Playground
Lost Creek Park has a buzzworthy new playground that everyone will be buzzing about. Construction is scheduled to begin mid 2025. This new playground is sure to be the bee’s knees.
Locomotive Train Cover
The proposed improvements will include the installation of an architectural stylized shade structure over the existing locomotive and caboose located at the at Allen Heritage Depot.
Ford Park, built in 1986, has long been a cornerstone of Allen’s recreational spaces. As the surrounding community has grown and evolved, so have its needs. Guided by public input during the 2023 bond process, the official Ford Park Master Plan is here! After the bonds funding this project are released (anticipated within two years), Parks leadership will work with architects to draft construction plans that reflect the community’s vision.

PAVILION RENTALS
Reservations
A number of pavilions are available for rent through Allen Parks and Recreation. All pavilions are available on a first come, first served basis. A $50 deposit plus hourly fees are required.

Bounce House
In addition to a Pavilion reservation, if you plan to utilize the services of a bounce house vendor, an additional $25 fee is required. Bounce houses are permitted in select City parks only. Contact the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office for further details on permitted locations, payment, vendor insurance requirements and placement guidelines.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND:
• None of the pavilions have patron accessible electricity.
• There is a $50 refundable damage deposit for each rental.
• No tobacco products or alcoholic beverages are allowed on premises.
• There is a two-hour minimum for each rental.

About The Village
Developed by City of Allen in cooperation with Allen Heritage Guild, the Heritage Village is a collection of Allen’s oldest remaining homes, outbuildings and a preserved church. The relocated structures sit on several acres of land in Allen’s old residential area, forming a park where guests can visit and learn about Allen history.
About Train Depot
The Allen Train Depot is located at 100 E. Main Street, Allen, Texas 75002. Meet the Ebenezer Allen #20 steam locomotive in Allen, TX. The locomotive, accompanying caboose and train depot represents Allen’s railroad heritage, with the coming of the Houston and Texas Central RR in 1874.

In 2019, City of Allen joined the few elite park and recreation agencies by earning accreditation through the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) and the National Recreation Park Association (NRPA). Re-accredited in the fall 2024, Allen Parks and Recreation continues its commitment to creating meaningful LIFE experiences in Allen!
Fees
REGISTRATION FEES
All program fees are set according to the cost of the instructor, supplies and minimum class enrollment. All fees collected help support and finance programs.
ADDITIONAL FEES
Some programs may require additional fees or supply fees and may be offered at member and non-member rates. These fees are generally identified at enrollment and are to be paid directly to the instructor.
Policies
MEMBER PRICING
Participants must be registered members at both the time of program registration and on the day program(s) begin. When registering online, you must complete all membership purchases before member pricing is unlocked.
TRANSFER POLICY
Participants may transfer to another available class before it begins without charge but only if the enrollment for the class transferred from will not drop below the minimum.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK
By registering for a class there is an assumption of risk by the participant. The Allen Parks & Recreation Department is dedicated to providing safe facilities and equipment for all participants, as well as qualified staff and instructors. In the event of a serious accident or illness, it is City policy to contact:
• The Allen Fire Department Emergency Services to perform First Aid and when necessary, recommend transport to a hospital.
• Each parent or legal guardian as soon as the situation allows.
SIBLING POLICY
Due to the structure of child/parent classes, only children who are of the appropriate age for the class will be permitted to register and attend the program. No younger or older siblings will be allowed in the classroom to sit and watch or be left unattended in the lobby.
PARENT POLICY
Please refrain from entering the teaching area during class to eliminate interruptions between the instructor and participants. There may be special days to view your child’s progress.
PHOTO POLICY
By their use of the City of Allen facilities, participants in programs and special events grant permission to the City of Allen to take photos and videos of themselves and their children for publication in the program brochure, website and additional uses as the City deems necessary, unless the registrant or participant expressly files a written request as to the use of photos and videos of themselves and/or their children.
Wait Lists
Is your class full? If so, we can place you on a waiting list. We will notify you if a space becomes available or a new class is formed. Payment is not required until you are registered for an open class position.
Refunds
When a class is canceled due to low enrollment or other circumstances, you will be offered a transfer to another class or receive a full refund. Participant-initiated refunds and transfers will only be granted when a participant:
• submits a transfer or refund request at least five (5) business days prior to the class start date, or
• participant becomes ill.
If a refund/transfer is not requested to be applied to the activity or program within five (5) days of the start of the program, a refund will be initiated.
