Have you always wanted to attend Hogwarts, discover wand lore or brew fantastical potions? DANCE ADVENTURE CAMP
An imaginative dance camp for kids! Beginners will learn the basics of Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theater and Hip Hop in an expressive way. Dancers complete a fun warm-up, choreography and creative activities with emphasis on theme and performance skills. Workout clothes required. Ballet and Jazz shoes are optional. ELEMENTARY BALLET CAMP
Students will learn basic ballet technique and terminology of Ballet. Students will also be working on performance pieces of choreograph. Through fun and energetic exercises, in a structured class setting, students will focus on fluidity of motion, musicality, and performance skills. Leotard, tights, and ballet shoes are required. On the final day of camp parent will watch their dancers shine during the parent show-off!

Skyhawks cheer camp ensures each camper will learn cheers, proper hand and body movements as well as jumping techniques. Travel back more than 65 million years and check out some of the most amazing creatures to walk the Earth: dinosaurs! Wrapped in games and adventure, unique challenges await you. During survival situations, the four basic needs become shelter, water, fire, and food. This is THE camp for animal lovers and future veterinarians! Campers will “adopt” a stuffed animal to perform mock exams, surgeries and other procedures. The stuffed animal is theirs to keep. Camp topics include a vet’s office, pharmacy and lab, basic animal anatomy and physiology, pet care and nutrition, first aid and emergencies, diagnosing common Illnesses and Injuries, treatment plans, solving “medical mysteries” and getting into vet school.

This is the coolest camp around! Handson STEM activities with fun themes inspired by the movie Frozen! Learn about absorption and dissolution by building ice towers. More icy-cold STEM challenges and crafts will fill this week!

Love building and designing super structures? Run, jump, throw and compete in ancient and modern sports like real Olympians! Campers will explore historical disasters, from collapsing buildings like the Fidenae stadium, bridges like the Tay Bridge Tacoma Narrows Bridge, and ships like the Titanic. They will build various structures to discover what went wrong, then design and test solutions. Some other disasters covered are the Colossus of Rhodes, Tower of Pisa, Exxon oil spills and wings of Icarus.

Students will learn idou kihon (moving basics) with diverse blocking, punching and kicking techniques. Progress through rank-specific kata, engage in traditional kihon kumite for basic attack/defense training, participate in free fighting (jiyu kumite), and develop kihon-based self-defense skills. Students will learn karate history, philosophy, and theory with an explanation of Japanese kanji for a deeper understanding of proper technique. The Saplings Playroom is a safe and engaging environment for little ones to explore, play and make new friends while at Terrell Recreation Center. Our playroom provides up to 2 hours of daily supervised care for children age 3 months to 9 years.

ADVENTURE TRACK
For the seasoned runner, leisurely walker and everyone in between, our indoor adventure track offers a comfortable place to move year-round. The track loop is 1/9-mile and adventure track (with stairs and inclined options) is 1/8-mile loop.

Step outside onto our outdoor fitness deck, equipped with medicine balls, ropes, chin-up bars, a punching bag, and more, for an exercise experience in the fresh air. This zone is a great space to weave functional training workouts into your routine.
The Rec Gym
MULTI-SPORT COURTS
Round out your fitness routine and meet friends for a game on our versatile gym courts. Our Rec Gym is comprised of three half-sized courts, one which includes an athletic turf option for games like futsal, indoor soccer and training. Scan the code above for the daily court schedule.
BATTING CAGES
Practice indoors on turf! Maintain your baseball or softball skills year-round with the batting cages and the slow-to-fast pitching machine. Sessions must be booked 24 hours in advance online or in-person at the Member Services desk if court is available.
The Fieldhouse
Meet the fieldhouse gymnasium, home to many future sessions of practice, play and competition for Allen. The gymnasium holds eight middle school/four full-sized courts for games of basketball, volleyball and pickleball, as well as plenty of spectator seating. Throughout the year you can expect to see active adult leagues, adult and youth tournaments, specialty programming, scheduled practices for Allen Sports Association, dedicated open play hours and so much more.

POLICIES
SPECTATOR POLICY
The facilities are controlled access. All persons entering the facility must have a current membership, purchase a day pass, or participate in a fee-forservice recreation program. Facilities do not allow free access for any persons entering the facility. For ASA practices, tournaments and events, access to the fieldhouse is granted.
DEFINITION OF A FAMILY
No more than two adult heads of household and dependents that are 26 years of age or younger in school or living at home. It also includes persons with special needs living as a single housekeeping unit at the same address. Dependents must be those that are claimed on taxes and proof may be requested by staff.
PROOF OF RESIDENCY
Resident rates are only available to those who live or work within the city limits of Allen and/or pay property taxes to the City of Allen. You must provide proof of residency or proof of employment within the City of Allen the first time you register in order to receive the resident rate. Once you are in our system, you will not need to prove residency again unless your address changes. Acceptable forms of proof include a valid driver’s license, state identification card, or current gas, electric, water or trash/recycle bill that shows your name and address. Allen residency is verified using Collin County Central Appraisal District website.
GUEST POLICY
Members are allowed to bring guests to the facility. Guests are required to pay the daily usage fees and sign off on a waiver for use of membership-based amenities.
FREEZES
In the event you are unable to utilize one of the recreational facilities, you may freeze your membership account for $10/month. Please visit the specific facility guidelines for more details. A member may request that their account be frozen. A reason for the freeze is not required. Freezes may be done on the day requested as well as in advance for a future date. All freezes must be a minimum of 30 days; there is not a maximum time an account can be frozen on monthly memberships. Memberships must be unfrozen in person. Unfreezing a membership can be done by the head of the household at the Member Services Desk at any time.
FITNESS FLOOR/DECK AND GROUP EXERCISE
No children under the age of 13 are allowed on the fitness floor or in group exercise classes, except for family classes.
PLAYROOM
Children ages 3 months to 9 years may stay for a maximum of two hours per day. Parents/guardians/designated persons are prohibited from leaving the facility grounds and can result in a 30-day loss of Playroom privileges.
MONTH-TO-MONTH MEMBERSHIPS
A 30-day written notice is required to discontinue the monthly deduction. For the Stephen G. Terrell Recreation Center, the one-time service fee at the time of membership set up is non-refundable. If a membership has been inactive for greater than 90 days, the $75 enrollment fee will be assessed again.
A WORD TO PARENTS
Our goal is to provide patrons with a safe and clean atmosphere in which families can enjoy themselves in a recreational environment. Parents are expected to closely supervise their children when not participating in a program and assist in enforcing the facilities policies for the safety and enjoyment of all patrons. All children, ages nine years and under, must be accompanied by a supervising individual 16 years or older.
