Our custom composite resin planters utilize commercial-grade fiberglass manufactured and fabricated at our state-of-the-art facility in the USA. Their dent, rust, and leak-proof commercial-grade construction, along with vast color and texture options, make fiberglass planters an interior and exterior landscaping favorite.

Fiberglass planters can withstand extreme indoor and outdoor conditions, including freezing cold winters and blazing hot summers. A marine-grade gel-infused paint ensures that fiberglass planters are moisture and rot-resistant. MATERIALS:

All CCR parts shall be constructed of reinforced thermosetting polyester resin using either the hand-layup and spray layup methods.

• Fibers shall be PPG or equivalent. For hand layup fibers should be uniform chopped strand mat, minimum 3 oz. density. Planters must use minimum 3 layers (or spray equivalent).

• Polyester resin shall be compounded by a reputable manufacturer. All planters will be fabricated of 100% resin inorganic fillers will not be acceptable.

• Visual surface is of a solid UV-stabilized, colorfast non-fading, weather and stain resistant pigmented gel-coat, uniform in color and texture and permanently fused to the fiberglass laminate. All exposed surfaces shall have minimum 16 MIL layer of color incorporated into the resin.

CONSTRUCTION:

• Architectural parts shall be fabricated by hand-layup, spray laminate. The finished plastic material shall be not less than 5/32” thick and thicker in those areas requiring additional structural strength.

• Where ribs or stiffeners are to be fastened by spray laminating over molded forms, the stiffeners or ribs shall be located, and spray laminated into position so that the finished joint shall conform to performance specifica-tions below.

• For vertical surface reinforcement, an inorganic honeycomb strengthening layer using double-veiled, bonded material shall be located and hand– or spray –laminated into position prior to the wall material setting. the entire honeycomb panel must be subject to pressure during curing to ensure proper bonding to wall. Honeycomb thickness will be a minimum 1/4”, or thicker as required for larger spans. Marine-grade plywood may be substituted for additional wall support when required.

General Care and Cleaning for CCR PLANTERS & RECEPTACLES

Indoor and outdoor custom composite resin planters and receptacles need to be cleaned regularly to remove dirt and dust accumulation.

MATTE FINISHES: Polyester Gel Coats are very resistant to water and other chemicals. You may want to avoid any strong solvents or highly acidic cleaners. It is best to use mild detergents such as hand washing soaps, which will work for a majority of stains, smudges, hand prints and dirt accumulations.

Ammonia based cleaners, such as Windex (streak free), Lysol Tub and Tile, Lysol Disinfectant Wipes or any type of Rubbing Alcohol may also be used. Try in an inconspicuous area, if it discolors or dulls the area do not use.

Stubborn stains can be removed using a Scotch Brite Scour Pad and one of the cleaners listed above. This type of cleaning is more effective on an entire panel verses spot cleaning. Matte finishes have a flattening agent that gives it a natural aged look. The flattening agent helps in making a uniform dull flat finish. Some chalking will occur as it is part of the natural aging process. It may be necessary to apply a post planting wipe down of the unit, as there can be some disturbance of the surface area between normal shipping and the handling of units. Again once exposed to the weather/elements the entire exterior surface will age in a uniform manner.

GLOSS FINISHES: Use a good quality cleaner or mild detergent with water for cleaning dirt or oil. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners, which will scratch the surface. Stubborn stains may be removed with fingernail polish remover.

To restore and/or maintain a higher luster finish, use a high quality automotive polish or wax made especially for use on fiberglass products, such as Meguiar’s MGH #9, Gel Gloss One Step Cleaner and Polish which can be purchased from hardware, automobile parts supply or marine products stores. Whether cleaning or polishing, always use a clean, soft absorbent cloth.

It is best to use mild detergents such as hand washing soaps, which will work for a majority of stains, smudges, hand prints and dirt accumulations. You may also use any ammonia based cleaners such as Tub and Tile or any Glass Cleaner. Try in an inconspicuous area, if it discolors or dulls the area do not use. Stubborn stains may be removed using a plastic scrub brush and one of the cleaners listed above. This type of cleaning is more effective on the entire panel verses spot cleaning.

All applied finishes have a flattening agent that gives it a natural aged appearance. Some chalking will occur as it is part of the natural aging process. On Orange Peel and Applied Textured Finishes you can use a stiff bristle brush or stiff plastic broom with any of the cleaners listed above.
