We are proud to announce the recipient for the second quarter of 2023 for the Alliance Gives Back charity program.. it is the Central Georgia K-9 Search And Rescue organization.
“My wife and I had the opportunity to attend the groups training the other weekend and we learned just how invaluable this group of handlers and dogs are to our local community and to the State of Georgia as a whole.”, Chris Hewatt said. “It was a privilege to spend the day with them.”
The Central Georgia K-9 Search And Rescue is a group of volunteer K-9 handler-dog teams who are dedicated to the training and execution of Tracking & Trailing (distinguish and follow a person’s scent), Live/Area (missing person over a large acreage) and Human Remains Detection (over land and water)
These teams supplement local law enforcement jurisdictions, within the state of Georgia and consist of men and women of all ages and dogs of breeds like German Shepherds, Bloodhounds, a Giant Riesenschnauzer, an Australian Shepherd, a Brittany, an English Springer Spaniel rescue from the French West Indies and a mutt named Thor from the local pound “The intense focus and determination of these dogs and the dedication of their handlers are truly remarkable While all the dogs are all so very different, they all possess the same tremendous work ethic, are ready and willing to please their handlers and are eager to hear the words “Good Boy” once they make their find, says Hewatt.
