sim·plic·i·ty Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. That was the headline on an Apple ad in 1977. But I venture to suggest that the iconic Steve Jobs may have gotten it slightly wrong when it comes to homes. Simplicity at home is less sophistication than it is comfort. It’s the friend at a dinner party or pigs-ina-blanket at the hors d’oeuvres table. It’s the little things that put you at ease. By definition, simplicity is being easy to understand or use. Buying or selling a home can be even more overwhelming than the rest of our fast-paced, chaotic world. So we strive to simplify the space so buyers can see themselves in the home - effortlessly. That might be achieved by simply rearranging furniture, picking flowers for a pop of color or painting the walls a neutral tone. To paraphrase Mr. Jobs: Simple can be harder than complex, but it is worth it to make your home comfortable to the buyer’s eye.
