Brief In this project, we explored how to move sketches into Illustrator and build effective symbols. Each prompt helped us find new and creative ways to represent our chosen animal. Through the iterative process we narrowed our selections down to just the best symbol from each category. We practiced the process of refinement and recognizing what makes a symbol strong.

Sketches
The goal for each prompt was to reach 20 sketches exploring different ways to convey the animal. Each prompt helped us try new ways to add meaning to our symbols.

The top three symbols from each category were revamped in Illustrator to explore the concepts further. This was the first stage of exploring builds digitally.

I selected the final symbols to finalize further. I watched for things like small sharp points or thin lines. The completely finalized symbol is shown in green for clarity.

Wrap up I felt overall very confident with where I ended up in this project. I stayed up to speed and kept organized the whole way. I maintained folders for each prompt and also kept an Illustrator file with all of the digital versions. Making sure I was up to date and had everything in its respective place helped me finish each section. I still have more to learn in Illustrator, but this project helped me feel a lot better about basic skills. Reading tutorials and following along with demos helped me figure out places I had gone wrong before and learn better ways to do them in the future.
