Shout to the Lord

Page 1

INTRODUCTION I love to hear music, even though I play no musical instrument. Years ago my love for writing poetry inspired me to start writing songs. I sing them (mainly in the bathroom) using rhythms I create. Of course they do not sound like the ones you hear everyday on the radio, or on your i-pod, but they inspire me nonetheless. Here are some these songs. They are mainly hymns. They were inspired by stories and scriptures I read in the Bible. I wrote them to share my belief and faith in God. They were also written when I was feeling down and weary, and needed my faith and belief to strengthen me.

PRAISE THE SAVIOUR Š Allison Hall , 2007

Praise the saviour, the lamb, the Messiah Whose coming was foretold by the prophet Isaiah Lift up your voices; let the world hear us sing Praises to the Everlasting King Praise the saviour who died on the cross To save mankind from being lost Lift up your voices; let the world hear us sing Praises to the Everlasting King Soon we will see Christ coming with his host Three in one; Father, Son and Holy Ghost Lift up your voices; and open your eyes Tis’ Jesus coming with his host in the skies

THE BEAUTY OF THE EARTH Š Allison Hall , 2005

The beauty of the earth He carved with his hand The snow-capped mountains, the sparkling crème sand A garden of flowers all covered in dew And birds fly below a blanket of blue The beauty of the earth attests to his love Oh great is the Lord God who lives above A sea of fish that splash and swim And the whispering wind tell stories of Him The beauty of man, beasts, sky and seas Makes men and angels bow down on their knees And sing glory to the Almighty the Ancient of Days For He is worthy, oh worthy of praise
