I’ve loved this thing from the start, and she does nothing but get better by the day. She’s so ladylike and feminine, but still dense boned and packs some substance. This soft haired, high tying, cool headed and eared angus is extremely enamoring from a structural design standpoint. Tall fronted, but short shouldered with the right angle, she strides out with such arrogance and poise in such a flexible and fluid fashion, that you can’t help but stop and gaze. Include the fact this calf has one of the most ideal set of feet, with the right depth of heel that is getting extremely challenging to find within the breed, and you can take her pedigree to any popular sire in the business, and she becomes one of the most logical investments you could make. Her mother is one of the most legit mature cows I’ve ever seen, without question, and has the most elephant sized feet with the perfect shape, she’s truly something to behold, and simply doesn’t miss. This calf packs on more power, and more bone, and consistently gets better, seemingly overnight. I was a fan of Sullivan’s First N Goal from Weingardner that ended up Reserve at Junior Nationals two years ago, and is now a donor for Bloombergs and Pembrook, and jumped at the opportunity for full sib embryos. This thing is wicked stout for an Angus, she’s shapely and big backed, with an ultra wide skeleton and pin set. Stout skulled, but still high tying with some look to offer. Her foot shape is awesome, her rib cage is large. She’s just now hairing back up with how warm we’ve been this fall, but I think she’ll look nice this fall. I slicked these older ones off later this summer, in an attempt to reset their hair cycle for pictures, and this was one that was a little slower to get her undercoat back. You need to watch this calf’s video. Razor necked, zero chested, soft bodied, loose made, but this one comes and goes with so much more width and genuine shape than you’d expect in one with that cute of a front one third. She packs the big, square pin set, the bold and robust rib cage, but ties her heart into her chest floor better than most her sire group, with more twist and lower quarter to boot. She hits the surface soft and square, has the big Angus hairs, and an exotic look overall. We lost her donor dam too soon, but she will leave a legacy, including the Primo that Will Coor sells half interest in for $50,000 in his fall born sale this spring. She’s as trendy as they make em, with the added punch and dimension that the ring is gravitating back towards. Sweet made bovine. Come on with it! Here’s the donor cow trapped in a show cow’s body. This whale bodied, giant legged, massive featured beast combines some of the most unique pieces, and packs all that power and poise around on such a loose and comfortable structural set up, something you don’t find around every street corner. She’s laid back in the angle of her shoulder, relaxed in the set to her knee, square on all four feet like they’re supposed to be, with a set of timber for feet and legs. She’s textbook in regards to flexibility and reach, with such a square hock that grabs the ground with authority, but does so in such a bendy, fluid fashion. The part that I find so intriguing, outside of her mother being one of the coolest Angus cows to walk in the ring, is how she combines all that added product and sheer woof with such a natural presence about her head and neck carriage that, just like the rest of her, is too overwhelming to ignore. UDE Queen Ruth 0204 made many fans throughout her campaign in the ring, where she found Champion Angus honors at Kansas City, Louisville, and reserve at Oklahoma City, and although this is her first set of ET calves, it’s clear her true accolades will be in production. She mirrors her donor dam so much, but possesses the added traits the industry utilized First Class for so heavily. Quite possibly the trendiest built animal in the sale. A little neck that’s a mile long, a ridiculous back leg, the short shoulder and perfect angle up front allowing for that picture perfect neck set and head carriage, and a center body sweep that you draw in your notes during class. A long and smooth muscle pattern, with a square hip and hind leg that can reach and grab with an insane amount of flex. She’s built for the times, and a tough one not to stop and stare at. Her mother is to this day one of the coolest built and unique structured females that I’ve seen, and had the pleasure to market through this very sale, and went on to win Kansas City as well as the National Charolais show in Denver. From the little I’ve seen, and the few we had born here, it would appear as if Tecumseh is a must use Simmental sire. Lot 47 exemplifies why in my book. A loose spined, whale bodied, dense boned purebred Simmi with a striking neck attachment and front third, a comfortable stride, but still packs the punch we need them to. What’s not to like about this soft haired, cool eared critter that’s tall fronted, yet laid back in the angle to her shoulder, and grabs the ground with a big, sexy back leg that every college kid would fight to fit. Her disposition is awesome, almost to a fault if you made it by to look at her in person, she’s extremely easy going and generally uninterested in the world until you get her attention, and then it’s Game On. Her mother made Top 5 at every show she went to, starting with Kansas Beef Expo through Aksarben, and ended it with Reserve Purebred at the American Royal. This is 18H’s first calf crop, but to say we’re excited for her future in production would be a massive understatement. A maternal sister to 18H just brought $116,500 for half interest in Weis’s sale, the genetic proof is in the pudding. I’ve got big aspirations for this one’s campaign in the ring over the next year, the quality is there to get the job done. No matter what time of day you set eyes on her, she’ll hit you like a pallet of concrete from two runs over. It’s hard to make Simmentals with the loose front spine build and tall fronted skeleton that have the ability to get their head this high in the air on the move, with that kind of natural presence and poise. So stout featured, big backed, shapely in her kind, with the bold rib cage, the right kind of sweep down low, and grabs the ground with authority and flexibility off all four tires. This may be a bold statement, considering her maternal sister hit a hammer price of $105,500 to Dunlap two years ago, but this is my favorite Carmen daughter to date. Soft haired, with a cool personality, and all the show ring looks you could ask for in a purebred Simmi. You probably noticed a scar in the picture and video, she got clothes lined by another calf and caught the end of a continuous panel just right about a month back, a few stitches and it healed perfectly and is growing in with hair currently. What she lacked in the hair department on picture day, she more than makes up for in the quality sector. Lot 49 is good beef. Square made, wide pinned, shapely, with a soft rib cage, a loose spine, and a hind leg that won’t quit. She’s tall fronted, high tying, laid back in the angle to her shoulder, and gets out and goes off either end like they’re supposed to. Raised by our good friend Jared Werning, and sired by one of Werning’s high sellers and lead off bull last spring, W/C Kaiser, out of a Profit that will quickly become a mainstay in their donor battery. Study this one’s video and I promise, the more you’ll like her. She does very little wrong, and so many things right. We were incredibly hot this fall, and she was slightly slower to hair up, but it’s coming fast now and she looks like a different creature. When practicality and show ring build collide. A hind leg that any judging coach would rave about, a center body and body sweep that anybody who fits bellies could do in their sleep, with a tucked up chest floor and collected front one third. She’s seamless in her transitions from third to third, and packs some serious punch and a pried apart skeleton from behind. This one screams brood cow, and has some serious cow power in her pedigree, as you can see with the picture of her grand-dam, not to mention the salty set of EPDs this one reps to boot. There isn’t a cattleman I know that wouldn’t take a pasture full of these, tack on her loose spine, balanced look, and legit structural set up, and you have yourself some quality property. Lot 52 offers as many unique, and hard to create pieces as any heifer in the offering. Her hind leg mobility, neck extension, and the insanely high point at which her neck and shoulder junction attach is impressive. Her front end structure is text book, she’s tall fronted yet short shouldered and laid back in her angle with the proper cushion to her knee. Bold muscled, pried apart skeletally with a huge pin set. She offers as many promising parts to make a salty big bred as any. Her mother is the picture perfect cow, with giant feet, a perfect udder floor, and fertility that’s mind blowing when it comes to flush day. A whole lotta beef. This black and white beast is bred for the chips, and is overwhelming from a capacity and power standpoint, but still sports the soft and attractive back leg that is hard to find in the purebred division. A high performing, jet neck Remedy daughter with virtually zero chest, she’s bold and round in her cage but still soft and swoopy down into her center cavity. Her neck ties directly out the top of her shoulder, and she’s as dimensional when viewed from any angle as any heifer in the sale. We were obviously hoping for a calf that was a little more, should I say….black, when this one was born, but quality is quality regardless of color. Her donor dam has hit the simmental breed in a big way, with son’s like Tree Lane’s Second Chance, and daughter’s like the Lashmett and Curtin families many time champions. Cool show heifer, even more intriguing donor cow. She’s one I would recommend for a more experienced showman, doesn’t respond well to quick movements or surprises, and is plenty large for a little feller. This Equity daughter is an intriguing critter. One of the most flexible three quarter blood simmentals you’ll set eyes on, with the dripping shag and little neck. Her donor dam that resides at Schaefer’s in North Dakota is bred like royalty, backed by the immortal Lucy of Dunk’s that has thrown banners in multiple breeds for over a decade. One of the tamest calves in the sale, lot 54 is bold and soft centered, tucked up about her chest floor, but combines it with some added dimension and punch. Every sale has a “sleeper” or a calf with all the pieces that gets overlooked, in walks lot 56. This calf is so complete, and does so many things right, that I have a really hard time imagining that she won’t consistently have a nice day in the ring. I’m not saying she’s for everybody, but as a breeder, you have to respect how difficult it is to make livestock built like this. To be that stout and pried apart, yet so square built and bendy legged with reach and flex for days. She’s that bold bodied and expressive patterned yet as arrogant, high tying, and presenceful as they come.
