ABOUT

CARTIER Woven Strié Velvet

FibreGuard

ABOUT: The name Cartier instills a feeling of quality and luxury. Cartier is rooted in velvet's history. Strié velvets have been around for centuries, revered for their quality, elegance and traditional appearance. Recently strié velvets have evolved to become an essential element in modern and transitional spaces. Velvet striés adds a layer of warm texture and subtle pattern. Cartier can complement accent patterns in transitional decor or becomes the accent pattern in minimalist decor.

WHAT IS A STRIE VELVET? Strié Definition: A subtle stripe or streaky, irregular effect that is created in the length of the fabric. This effect is achieved by dyeing warp yarns in variations of the same color.

WHAT IS A VELVET? Velvet is a woven pile fabric. Woven using a velvet loom. Velvets have a plush, soft hand. Pile lengths can be short or long. Velvets can "bruise" or track, which is the direction that the nap lays. Some velvets track more than others. Consider this the velvet's patina! Velvets are durable and easy to care for and clean. ABOUT

WHISKEY Chenille

FibreGuard

ABOUT: Whiskey is an artisanal chenille upholstery fabric. Intricate, subtle but effective details were applied when developing this striking texture. The designer balanced rich chenille yarns with a combination of weaves and textures to achieve this "new" classic. Whiskey's characteristics reflect & play off the light to create atmosphere and visual sophistication. Whiskey has a versatile look that will work in any design application, from traditional to contemporary. Available in 24 rich, deep, saturated colors. Whiskey is part of our FibreGuard family. WHAT IS A CHENILLE? Chenille is the French word for caterpillar, whose fur the yarn is to resemble. Chenille yarns are manufactured by placing short lengths of pile yarns between 2 core yarns and then twisting them together (similar to a pipe-cleaner). The short yarn lengths give the chenille its softness and mottle characteristics. Chenille yarns are generally the filling yarns (woven in going from left to right and right to left) woven into a solid warp (the yarns that go up and down) to create the Chenille fabric. Different finishing techniques bloom the fabric to enhance its coziness. Chenille fabrics are made from different fibers from polyester, acrylic, nylon & cotton, to name a few. Some chenille fabrics require a backing to increase their durability and stability. Whiskey is solidly woven and extremely stable, there for Whiskey is unbacked. Many finishes can be applied to chenille fabrics to protect the fabric from stains, moisture penetration and, pilling. Whiskey has FibreGuard built into the yarns that create a durable fabric that is easy to clean with just water and household soap. GOOD TO KNOW! . 53% Polyester, 42% Acrylic, 5% Viscose . Available in 24 colors . Suitable for upholstery (residential & contract), heavy drapes, bedding and decorative accessories . Durable and will remain beautiful for many, many years to come . Washable & dry cleanable . FibreGuard product . Pilling Class 4-5 . Oeko-Tex compliant . Passes NFPA260, Cal 117 & FMVSS302
