Inclusivity in the Club
By: Andreas Chatzigiannidisi
Although this year has been unpredictable, to say the least, Key Club has worked through the challenges together. We have been focused on making sure we provide as many opportunities as we can to come together like we have in the past, and help others in our community in a safe risk-free way. During our socials we have tried to still create fun events that bring our members together and help us grow as a club. Along with creating risk free meetings and socials due to Covid, we have also been trying to provide students with numerous safe ways to help out and volunteer in the community. Additionally, we have been providing students with opportunities to volunteer at the flycatcher trail near the highschool. Students are allowed to come and go at their discretion for a few hours on selected days and have the chance to bring themselves, as well as friends and family, to help out at the flycatcher trail. This event not only allows for students to volunteer in a risk free way, but it also gets students outdoors and spending time with others. One great way for many of our members to be a part of our club and be able to volunteer this year is through our big event. Our big event is being planned for April 8th, and will be a full day full of numerous different ways to volunteer in safe and helpful ways. Through this event we hope to get as many students as possible to volunteer and be included in what Key Club is all about, helping our community.
