C O N N E C T E D

From the Old Saints’ President Welcome to Issue 17 of Dovetails, our Old Saints’ magazine. It is a very different world we are living in since the last edition, and I would like to thank the staff at All Saints’ for their commitment to keeping things as normal as possible and enabling the continued publication of Dovetails during this stressful time. The year ahead is an uncertain one, with many College and Old Saints’ activities and events cancelled due to social distancing restrictions. Unfortunately, we have had to cancel our Heritage Week celebrations in May, but hope to hold these events later in the year. In 2019, the Old Saints once again supported the College’s Futures Expo in June with more than 40 former students and parents volunteering their time to speak with the Year 10s about possible career paths. In Term 4, we held our most successful Beers, Bubbles and Bites (BBB) event for Old Saints to return to the College. For the first time, this event took place in the new Years 5 and 6 building and was a resounding success, with many Old Saints and current and former staff in attendance. BBB included personalised tours of the campus and delicious finger food, along with

entertainment from our very talented ASC singers and musicians. The evening was topped off with a very enthusiastic rendition of the College Hymn sung by all the former students. We hope you can join us at the end of the year for the next BBB event on Friday, 6 November 2020. Our presence at Pasar Malam, with the ever-popular ‘dunk tank’, was successful again this year. We raised $727.00 which we have donated to Inkwazi Adventures run by former student Charles Street (1998). The money is going directly to children in remote South African villages who will receive purpose-built bicycles so they can attend school and transform their lives through education. This is a very worthwhile cause which the Old Saints’ community is proud to support. We began 2020 with an opportunity for Old Saints to continue or begin their involvement with the Disabled Surfers Association (DSA) ‘Let’s Go Surfing’ Days. These events have been both popular and rewarding within the College for some years now and can be easily accessed by former students. On 18 January, around 10 Old Saints and family members attended the DSA day at Leighton Beach. It was an enjoyable morning helping disabled participants have some fun in the surf and sand. We hope to attend this event again at the end of the year, once things return to normal. And finally, it is with great sadness I announce that our Alumni Officer, Mrs Mary Thornton, will be stepping down

Miss Katelyn Hann and Mrs Mary Thornton

from her role after eight years of dedicated service, which has included organising more than 40 reunions! Mary has been a passionate advocate for the Old Saints, and we will miss her enthusiasm, exciting ideas and sheer hard work. Mary will be stepping into a new role funded by the Old Saints, uploading hard-copy photographs of the College since its inception into a digital facial recognition software program. It is an exciting step forward for the Old Saints. Mary will bring a wealth of knowledge to this role. I would like to thank Mary on behalf of the Old Saints for her hard work over many years, and for her willingness to go the extra mile to deliver fabulous results for our community. Her replacement is Miss Katelyn Hann (2015) who will bring a fresh vision to the Old Saints. A current member of the Old Saints’ Committee and former Treasurer, Katelyn has maintained a strong interest and involvement with the Committee since leaving ASC. We look forward to working with Katelyn in the coming months. This bumper edition of Dovetails features stories on Pasar Malam 2020, BBB 2019, the Old Saints in Song event, an introduction to the 2020 Old Saint interns working at ASC, images from our latest 5 Year Reunion, articles on what our former students are doing now, and much more. We hope you enjoy it! Mrs Adrienne Wright (née Hartley, 1986) Old Saints’ President

Beers, Bubbles & Bites 2019 It was wonderful to see so many Old Saints and former staff return to ASC on All Saints’ Day for the annual Beers, Bubbles & Bites event on Friday, 1 November 2019. The day the Old Saints returned to All Saints’! Congratulations to the Class of 2015 on being the largest cohort attending! The evening ended with an impromptu rendition of the College Hymn. Congratulations to Kent Brinklow (1994) on winning a two-night stay for four people at Tweed Cottage in Bridgetown, thanks to the Old Saint Musgrave family and their business, Winthrop Development Consultants.

Save the date! Beers, Bubbles & Bites 2020 takes place on Friday, 6 November 2020 (5.30pm to 8.30pm). There will be live entertainment and a campus tour. DOVETAILS VOLUME 17 | APRIL 2020

Welcome, Class of 2019! In October last year, the Class of 2019 was formally welcomed into the Old Saints’ community with a BBQ hosted by alumni members. The Year 12s enjoyed a sausage sizzle cooked by some of the Old Saints’ Committee while catching up during one of their final lunches together as a cohort. Mark Balding (1988) spoke to the students, encouraging them to remain

connected to the College as they enter into the next phase of their lives. At the end of the lunch, the Year 12s were presented with an Old Saints’ business card holder and a deck of Old Saints’ playing cards. Thank you to the Old Saints who volunteered to cook the BBQ and to Mark for sharing his words of wisdom. We look forward to keeping in touch with the members of our Class of 2019!

Kate Connors

Kate is leading PricewaterhouseCooper’s (PwC) mental health strategy and working as an internal psychologist in the firm’s Melbourne office. Kate began working as a psychologist helping people with disabilities maintain employment. She was also CEO of a national corporate psychology business before being invited to join PwC five years ago. In 2018, Kate helped launch “Green Light to Talk”, PwC’s commitment to their 8 000 members to positively promote the importance of conversations on mental health in the workplace. One of the initiatives included in the launch was the opportunity to complete a “mental health check-in” online and enter a draw to win a lunch with actor Hugh Jackman. Kate has confirmed that “Jacko” is just as delightful in person as he appears in the media! In her spare time, Kate enjoys Melbourne’s many “wining and dining” opportunities. She is also a big supporter of the Dockers.

Kyle Morgan

It is safe to say that, after leaving All Saints’, Kyle has had plenty of big moves around the world. Kyle attended Edith Cowan University, completing a Bachelor of Science in Aviation and achieving his Air Transport Pilot’s License. Beginning as a Flight Instructor teaching cadet pilots for Singapore Airlines, Kyle then took up a position as First Officer for a Regional Airline based in Perth, before being promoted to Captain. After three years as Captain, Kyle made his first move to Sydney to work with Virgin Australia as a Second Officer on longhaul international flights. It was during this time that Kyle met his wife Lucy, who was working as a cabin crew member for Etihad Airways. Kyle and Lucy found time for a longdistance relationship for two years before moving to Auckland together. After marrying and having their first child, Luka, Kyle and Lucy made the decision to move to Scotland to be closer to Lucy’s family. Making his way up the ranks, Kyle worked as a First Officer with Air Japan before him and his family moved back to Perth this year.

2002 Tom Kooy Since graduating, Tom has taken some business risks, and while this brought with it some lows, it has also resulted in many spectacular highs. Tom’s entrepreneurial nature and hunger for risk-taking in business led him down various paths, including

7

DOVETAILS VOLUME 17 | APRIL 2020

building e-commerce companies, software and technology. However, he ultimately believed that if he did right by others and in business, he would always see a return. Tom’s most significant success so far has been joining the founding team of Uno Group – a market-research company which delivers consumer spending insights to brands. Tom took a risk investing in Uno Group when all they had was an idea. Now, they have an exceptionally robust business and a very experienced board, so in January 2020, Tom stepped down from their Executive, but remains a major shareholder of the company. In addition to this, Tom advises and coaches family businesses, sits on company boards, supports startups, and is a Venture Partner for Perth-based Venture Capital Firm, 808 Ventures. While his work keeps him very busy, Tom loves spending time with his family: his wife Anna and his three daughters – Elizabeth (5), Georgia (3) and Vivienne (1).

Claire Webster (née Fisher) In 2009 Claire received a Diploma in Building Design and Technology at TAFE. She took up a position as a building designer, drafting and designing in the residential sector for a prominent Perth builder, with whom she is currently working today. Having always enjoyed Maths and Art at ASC, Claire feels her job is a perfect combination of both areas. As a mother of two young children, Claire has very little spare time on her hands, but when she is free, she practices pilates. In the past year, she has also taken up cardio tennis. She and her husband are also currently building a house, which Claire designed herself.

Cam Atkinson

James Ahern

Working in IT as a systems administrator for an Australian distribution company is a far cry from his tertiary studies in Architecture and Fine Art. However, Cam has had a passion for computers and technology since he was young and chose to follow his dream by completing a diploma at TAFE.

Skateboarding since he was seven years old, James found a way to combine his passion for skateboarding with travelling.

As well as working in IT, Cam also likes to be creative, spending his spare time drawing, and playing music. Recently he has been trying his hand at stand-up comedy! Cam sees comedy as a unique form of expression and creative outlet.

Kym Scanlan (née Lambert) Teaching in Perth has meant that Kym is continually bumping into Old Saints or staff from All Saints’. At times, she has even had the chance to work alongside them! Kym has worked as a Health, Physical and Outdoor Education Teacher for a decade, as well as taking on other roles, such as Year Coordinator, Outdoor Education Coordinator and Head of Learning Area. Kym’s work reflects her passions; she loves all things adventurous, from snowboarding and hiking Karijini to camping and diving with Great White Sharks. One thing is for sure – Kym does not shy away from a challenge! Marrying her husband, Dave, seven years ago, they have since grown their family with two daughters – two-and-a-half-yearold, Phoebe and four-month-old, Eva – and two Golden Retrievers.

After leaving All Saints’, James spent some time travelling overseas before completing a three-year Geology degree at The University of Western Australia. The mining recession allowed James the opportunity to continue his travels, and he often used skateboarding as a means to connect with others. He has been featured in skateboarding videos and magazines around the world. James currently works as a fly-in / fly-out Underground Mine Geologist in Kalgoorlie.

Mark Ashton When Mark first landed a job as a pharmacist in Northam, he told himself he would only stay in the country for a few years. Eleven years later, Mark now owns a pharmacy in the small country town of Goomalling. Buying his pharmacy was a risk and it took a lot of hard work for Mark to arrive at a place where he felt comfortable and confident to do so, but he hasn’t looked back. Mark is currently studying remotely at Curtin University to become a diabetes educator. Mark has fully embraced country living and has become very involved with the town and the community. He plays and coaches AFL and volunteers with St John Ambulance – something Mark says is challenging yet rewarding.

She has loved yoga since her time at All Saints’ when she was first introduced to the practice by Ms Richens in sport. She has been teaching yoga for five years and is in the process of opening her own studio.

James is currently pursuing a career in the Film and TV industry. Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Film Production in 2012, he has been involved in a number of film shoots, both behind the scenes and in front of the camera. James was cast as an extra in the movie A Few Less Men and in The War That Changed Us, a documentary about Australia’s involvement in the First World War. When he’s not on set, James works as a waiter at The Merrywell, Crown Perth.

Sam Brown

Michael Jones

Jumping between Commerce degrees at university and spending some time travelling led Sam to become the Founder and CEO of his own business.

When Michael is not enjoying the waterways and islands that his new home of the Gold Coast offers, he is busy running his own carpentry business.

Pelikin is a banking and Visa card app built for young travellers, helping them save, travel and spend safely and smartly. It is specifically tailored for those travelling in groups and covers everything from payments and insurance through to different currencies.

After completing his bachelor’s degree in Construction Management in 2018, Michael left Perth and completed a cadetship with a building company, and is looking forward to the next step in his career.

Sam developed the idea for Pelikin after his own travelling experiences and the work experience he obtained in the management consultant space. In January 2019 he was delighted to see the first Pelikin transaction – so much so that he has had the coordinates of the exact

After obtaining two master’s degrees in Aerospace Engineering from France and the US, Raoul now works in Melbourne on a special kind of rocket science as part of his PhD.

Raoul Mazumdar

Combining chemistry, combustion and

Her two favourite sports are volleyball and skiing, and she has also recently started learning how to sew. She loves to travel, especially to Big White Ski Resort in Canada.

Jordan Price Years of working in different fields led Jordan to his current career as a trauma cleaner. An industry many people may not know exists, a trauma cleaner attends crime scenes after a death to clean up the area. Jordan is an avid video game player and has a strong passion for politics and ethics. As his line of work is physically demanding, he prefers to spend his free time relaxing.

Cody Rummer After graduating university in 2011, Cody began working in the mining sector in the Geosciences field, holding geologist positions over a range of mine sites. However, he soon made a move into the engineering field and began focusing on mine planning, scheduling and design. The transition between fields has been difficult for Cody, with long days and hard work, but it has now paid off as he has recently become a Senior Engineer, working on long-term mine planning – something he regards as his greatest achievement. Cody’s work has, fortunately, afforded him an excellent balance between work and his personal life, and has allowed him to spend time on numerous hobbies. His most recent hobby, which may soon turn into something more, has seen Cody launch a screenprinting project with his brother and business partner. Their aim is to produce locally manufactured and designed clothing.

Donald Xu After pursuing numerous career paths, including hospitality, a role in his family’s business organising student exchange programs and management of a post office, Donald’s attention eventually turned to the renewable energy industry. For the past three years, he has been running his own solar business, Empower Solar Perth. Donald has two children. His daughter Victoria is attending Kindergarten at All Saints’, and his son Reagan will be joining the College next year. in Ontario, Canada. She created many memories during her year abroad, including developing a love for poutine and maple syrup and surviving a freezing winter. Upon returning to Perth, Sadie completed a master’s degree in Nursing Practice, leading to a position as a Registered Nurse specialising in paediatric intensive care. In her role, Sadie looks after critically ill children and helps to support families through difficult times. Sadie has developed a love for the great outdoors and is pictured overleaf on a hike across Mt Wellington in Tasmania.

Ben Walkemeyer During his time at All Saints’ College, Ben had a keen interest in sailing, which has since turned into an exciting career. Ben represented Australia in sailing competitions in the Laser Class until 2015 when he made a move into coaching. For the past five years, Ben has been coaching sailing full time and is currently the Laser Class Head Coach for the WA Sailing Squad. Coaching sees Ben working with teams of youth and adult athletes, coaching them in daily training and at competitions throughout Australia, Europe and across the world. During his coaching career, Ben has taken on opportunities to coach the Australian Youth Team at four Sailing World Championships, and looks forward to coaching them at more championships in the coming years. His coaching hasn’t limited his racing, however, as Ben competed in the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race in 2018.

Not one to stray too far from the water, Ben spends his free time kitesurfing and spearfishing, and ventures onto dry land for camping trips with his mates—many from ASC.

2018 Thomas Barnes Thomas has pursued his passion for basketball since graduating in 2018. Currently in his second year of a Sports Science degree at Curtin University, he participates in basketball dunking events in Australia and the US, and has been a guest on American sporting programs. Old Saints around the

globe

We are always thrilled to keep in touch with Old Saints, wherever they may be in the world, and appreciate the deep connection to All Saints’ College our former students maintain. Whether making a move from Western Australia for study, work, family or just an exciting change of scenery, it is wonderful to see so many Old Saints living and working in diverse fields in all ‘corners’ of the globe.

Eliza Compton (1986)

Courtney Churchill (2013) Essex, United Kingdom

Eliza is a freelance print and digital sub-editor and travel writer based in London. Starting as a cadet journalist at The Albany Advertiser, she has spent most of her 30-year career in Sydney, notably as chief sub-editor of Fairfax Media’s magazine division. In 2012, she moved to Paris, where she worked as a freelance writer as well as a teacher of business English to professionals and university students while mastering the French language. Moving to London in July 2019, Eliza now freelances for major news and magazine companies. Just a week after graduating from university with a Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies, Courtney began working as a Kindergarten teacher in a childcare centre. In this role, Courtney learnt a vast amount about children’s developmental milestones and their relationships. She then became the Educational Leader for the centre, quickly developing as an educator. Courtney recently moved to the United Kingdom with her partner, where she is working as a Pre-Primary teacher in Essex. Courtney says she is excited about the challenges of a new country, a new way of living and a new curriculum in her line of work.

Jana Davis (2006)

Megan Smith (2006)

Queenstown, New Zealand A love for the ocean began at a young age for Jana, making it easy for him to fall into his current occupation as a deep-sea oil and gas driller. Specialising in ultra-deep-water, high-pressure and high-temperature drilling, his work has taken him all around the world. When he graduated from All Saints’ 13 years ago, he never believed his job would take him to the jungles of Borneo and Brunei and countries like Myanmar. Jana’s love for the ocean doesn’t end with his job, as he and his father are developing a private charter company on their renovated former crayfishing boat. They plan on carrying out private charters around New Zealand’s largest national park, Fiordland, complete with sightseeing, and an onboard chef! New Zealand has become a special place for Jana and his wife, Monette. The couple were married at Jana’s beautiful family farm earlier this year in Queenstown, and plenty of Old Saints made the trip across the ditch to be there. When not out on a boat, Jana and Monette hike around Queenstown with their German Shepherd, Judge, and every morning during winter they head up to the ski field.

Alberta, Canada

After moving to Canada in 2016 with her fiancé Andrew, Megan fell in love with the mountains and the community of like-minded people. Megan graduated from The University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Science (Conservation Biology/Zoology), completed Honours at Murdoch in Restoration Ecology and spent six years in the environmental field in oil, gas and mining. She has now embarked on a new career, in the realm of Community Engagement. Living in the beautiful mountains in Canmore, Alberta, Canada, Megan works as the Festival Manager for the Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival – a nine-day annual festival that celebrates mountain sports and culture. Fully embracing the mountain lifestyle, Megan is also a volunteer ski instructor for an adaptive sports organisation.

Tim Ward (2006) Vancouver, Canada

Graduating with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering and working at an engineering company in Perth led Tim to Vancouver where he pursued a master’s degree in Materials Engineering in 2013. Tim’s work has seen him travel to Sierra Leone, North and Central America, Europe and Mexico. Now back in Vancouver where he hopes to stay for several more years, Tim is working as a Process Engineer, but plans to come home to Western Australia more often. Taking advantage of living in British Columbia, Tim likes to ski and camp, and hopes to go on more hiking trips.

The organisation also supports local South African communities through sustainable change, which they hope will benefit future generations.

Inkwazi Adventures partners with not-for-profit ERP, promoting their #BIKES4ERP campaign which delivers bicycles for children in rural South Africa. Many children have to walk over 20km to and from school each day across rugged terrain in extreme weather. ERP delivers bicycles directly to these students so that they can attend school on time, concentrate on tasks and have more time to study, ultimately empowering them to complete their education. A bike donation is funded as part of an Inkwazi experience, which includes personally delivering a bike to a child in the local community during a tour. Before each tour, Inkwazi Adventures also fundraises to deliver as many bicycles as possible for each trip. As part of their next adventure planned for October (Bushveld 2020), Inkwazi Adventures is looking to deliver over 40 bicycles, changing the lives of 40 students and their community. Charles is currently living in Sydney, and while working full-time in Digital Strategy, he leads Inkwazi Adventures on the side, while also completing a doctorate in Business Administration in the area of developing more in-depth research and understanding in Digital Wellbeing. In his spare time, Charles loves spending time with his ‘Street Crew’ (wife Louise, and three children, Kathleen, Tahlia and Charles Jnr). They love going on outdoor adventures on local trail hikes, spending time on the beach or day trips out exploring the outer parts of Sydney. 15

Sara David (née Lindegger, 1987) Congratulations to Old Saint Mrs Sara David (née Lindegger, 1987) who, on Australia Day this year, was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her service to international humanitarian health programs. Sara is the founder of not-for-profit organisation Living Child Inc. which develops training programs for Midwives, Health Workers and Traditional Birth Attendants to improve the quality of health care for mothers and babies, and to reduce morbidity and mortality rates in Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Tanzania. In March Sara spent three weeks in PNG with Living Child Inc. volunteering alongside local nurses to provide family planning methods to hundreds of women, desperate to space their pregnancies. Sara also worked with 35 birth attendants based in remote villages, educating them on danger signs which can present in pregnancy, during birth and after birth, as well as signs of danger in newborns. Her time in PNG was also used to educate locals on ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19, such as proper handwashing techniques and limiting travel between towns. Sara hopes that being appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) will allow her to further advocate for the women living in remote villages in PNG. She also hopes to encourage younger generations to pursue a career in nursing or midwifery. Sara was the recipient of our inaugural Old Saints’ Service & Endeavour Award in 2018 which helped to provide Living Child Inc. with two Solar Care cases (one pictured below right) with back-up power, which were installed at a Health Centre in Angoram.

Entrepreneurial Old Saints Jack Sealy and Yean Ng (2012) are embracing an entrepreneurial spirit with their business, Toe the Line. Jack (right) and Yean (left) launched their business in 2017 creating colourful and vibrant socks with playful designs, showcasing wearers’ personalities. However, Toe the Line is more than just a sock business. Jack and Yean have partnered with the Children’s Leukaemia and Cancer Research Foundation to support the charity, after learning that children’s feet become extremely cold when enduring chemotherapy. Outside their entrepreneurial venture, Jack works for Commonwealth Bank as an Associate in Global Markets and Yean is an Office Manager at Dismantle—a not-forprofit organisation that supports and empowers disadvantaged youth through outreach and mentor services. . 17

Simone Springer (1997)

Ryan Loxton (2000)

When asked if her career pathway has changed over the years, Simone has a very different answer from most.

Congratulations to Professor Ryan Loxton who received one of two Christopher Heyde Medals awarded by the Australian Academy of Science this year.

After initially studying Youth Work, Simone moved to Melbourne and worked as a Private Investigator and a Loss Prevention Officer. An abrupt change in career then led Simone to open two clothing shops back in Perth, one of which she still runs online. Today, Simone is a full-time comedian, and her unconventional and diverse career path has no doubt helped create some entertaining material. Since starting comedy in 2016, Simone has embraced the creative lifestyle and has written two contemporary women’s fiction books in her Betty Rouge series. She is also a radio host, appearing on ABC’s Early Mornings with Barry Nicholls every Friday. In just four years, Simone has made a name for herself in comedy, performing sell-out shows in theatres around Australia and headlining some of the top comedy clubs in the United States. Simone is also part of a comedy group called The Motherhood Comedy, where she and three other comedians (who are also mothers) perform stand-up shows about their different experiences. At the end of the day, however, Simone regards her children as her greatest achievement.

An ARC Future Fellow from Curtin’s School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences, Ryan was recognised for his distinguished research in Applied Mathematics. Ryan’s research uses mathematical techniques to optimise business operations and processes in the oil and gas, agriculture, and mining industries. “Trying to find mathematical patterns and solutions that may improve business operations and processes for industry is a challenging but rewarding task,” said Ryan. “I have been fortunate to work on many different projects in a variety of industries and sectors throughout my career. I look forward to furthering my work and helping to streamline processes and operations in new and emerging industries,” he added. In addition to this prestigious medal, Ryan has been recognised for his collaborative projects with industry partners, including receiving the Business Prize at the 2018 Curtinnovation Awards for developing a software tool to help farmers streamline their operations.

Steven Thiele (2018) Having always enjoyed creative writing, Steven began working on a short story during his final year at All Saints’ as a stress reliever from the pressure of his Year 12 studies. Since he left school, that story has blossomed into a published novel titled Tales of the Marked: Torchbearer. The young adult fantasy novel follows two young warriors cast out into a world gone mad in which religion and royalty are on the brink of war. Over the course of the novel the two warriors discover the truth of what brought them together and that secrets and magic have a way of fracturing destiny. Torchbearer is the first book in Steven’s Tales of the Marked trilogy. He has a second trilogy in the works and plans on starting the draft soon. Steven is studying for a bachelor’s degree in Law and Arts at Murdoch University, majoring in Global Politics and Policy. He is currently wrapping up the first draft of Book Two in his Tales of the Marked trilogy. DOVETAILS VOLUME 17 | APRIL 2020

Lauren Robinson (née Mitchell, 2007)

Jana Davis (2006)

Lauren, living in the ‘big smoke’ of Perth, met Tim, a sheep and cattle farmer from the Great Southern region, on social media three years ago. They soon fell in love, and Lauren made the move to live on Tim’s family farm in Young Siding (a rural town near Albany).

Jana proposed to Monette (Netty) Russo in Hosier Lane, Melbourne, which is famous for its street art. He commissioned a professional graffiti artist to paint the words ‘Marry Me Netty’ and the Olympic rings (as Netty is an Australian Olympic Gymnast) with one of the rings being a diamond.

Tim proposed to Lauren at the lookout on top of Mount Clarence with the incredible views of King George Sound as the backdrop. On Saturday, 22 February 2020 in front of 120 loved ones the couple said ‘I do’ under some old Marri (red gum) trees on Tim’s family farm. Their rustic farm reception was held in a tin hayshed, with a long table dinner catered by a BBQ company from Perth. The slow cooked meats were complemented by local wine from the Great Southern region and some beer brewed by friends. Lauren’s friends from ASC, Karina Bowden (2004), Melissa Browning (2007), Melissa Mitchell (née Bowden, 2007), Bridget Wille (née Senini, 2007) and Lara Srokowski (2007), travelled from across Australia to attend her special day. As their farm is busy until May with baby cows and lambs being born, the couple plan to go on a honeymoon later in the year.

Jana and Netty married on 4 January 2020 in Queenstown, New Zealand on the Davis’ family farm nestled in front of the local ski field, Coronet Peak. Two hundred guests attended the wedding, including Jana’s ASC friends Matthew Groom (2006), Joshua Brown (2003) and Angela Vurens Van Es (2006). His sister Ariana Davis (2008) and friends Sam Brown (2006), Timothy McCracken (2006) and Charlotte Brown (née Saltmer, 2006) were in the bridal party. The wedding was styled in a modern Māori theme, with the language incorporated into everything from the signage to speeches, highlighting Jana’s heritage and home country language. After the ceremony, helicopters flew the bridal party to the top of Lake Wakatipu for some “next-level” photographs which the couple will forever cherish.

Cameron Wright (2015) It was a beautiful summer’s day when Cameron and Christy Wright tied the knot on Saturday, 7 December 2019. Cameron and Christy exchanged vows at St Matthew’s Church in Shenton Park before celebrating their marriage with 150 guests at the reception in Centennial Park, Bull Creek. Lily Li and Grace Hoes, Old Saints from the Class of 2019, styled a gourmet grazing table for the reception which was a feast for the eyes, as well as the palate! Cameron’s family of old and current Saints’ were by his side throughout the day: Mother Adrienne Wright (née Hartley, 1986) and father Stephen Wright, and brothers Jeremy (2017), Brendan (2019) and Oliver (current Year 9 student at All Saints’ College).
