My Portfolio spans across a wide range of projects and design strategies. Some of the projects I worked on were usually as a part of a team or a studio. The collaborative nature of the projects were essential to their success. I have always been a major contributor towards the design process and my design, sketching and graphic skills have helped me to do so. I have also been actively involved in all aspects of preparing the construction documents and construction administration. Imagine a different future: a positive one, where the world is a better place because of – not despite – how we design, produce and consume things.

Power to the People: The Irresistible Rise of the Maker Movement

“Design will not be about getting a commission from a big international company, but about working in the community

The Community Workshop La Canada The Community workshop was created with the intention of promoting social awareness of the social divide in Mexico nowadays. Trying to impact public spaces with an urban intervention generating social impact.

A public space that is immersed in the natural environment. In situ resources were used in order to make it a sustainable project. The outcome a recreational public space for a local rural school in Mexico.

The Community Workshop Menchaca Local intervention to design a solution to a local problem. Approaching from the idea that everyone deserves good design. The principle was to bring people together. Everything happens around football in this community. Creating a space for gathering and social interaction.

Empowerment Empowering communities with their built environment. The objective is to use the design & architecture to help communities in need. The project aims to strengthen and dignify these flows, providing spaces equipped for social interaction.

The Brewery, San Miguel The transformation of buildings into an activity is an inherent process in the evolution and transformation of cities. Re-enable architecture is creating new dynamics of use from what existed before by using the present structure, demonstrating their skills and empowering them, keeping them current and useful over time through a dialogue between memory and reality that can renew. The project is crafted to inspire, engage, experience and produce. It is designed for long-term positive visual, experiential and psychological impact for people working and

visiting, stimulated by sense of being energetically alive in an atmosphere of newness, freshness and creativity.. The project seeks to minimize the negative environment impact of buildings by efficiency and moderation in the use of materials, energy, and development space.

world class, innovative and fully resolved concept designs and placemaking for the regeneration of 11 key parks in the centre of city and with the ultimate goal of creating a more liveable Abu Dhabi. Working as a coordinated team this also included the input of the wider team of specialists and workshop tables to deliver the placemaking themes of the Gathering and Ghadan 21 including city colour, climate interventions, mobility and digital engagement consultants.

Name of park in logotype

One of our initial discussions was how to connect the parks physically and digitally and that whilst all the parks will have their own unique identity and positioning, collectively they will be stronger and there will be many common themes the whole is greater than the sum of its parts (parks!). One binding idea for the 11 parks was the creation of the ‘Abu Dhabi Parks Club’. A concept to bring all the parks together in one special club - a place where they all have equal importance – re-branded parks. This club could manifest itself in an App or what we called a ‘Digital Concierge’ concept.

The ‘Digital Concierge’ App concept – a place where people are able to access more information about the parks e.g. cafes and restaurants, book facilities (eg for kids birthday parties), and be updated on new design changes. This app could also allow initiatives like sponsor a tree or support a park’s maintenance as well as educate people on the environment in the parks and local history. One of the ideas for connecting the parks came from a working discussion with the City Colour Team – Beacons and landmarks that could be designed by different artists and be unique to each park but are connected by a common theme across the city.

The Idea Interpretation Translation

Inspired by the Korean flag and the diversity of Cj Group’s offerings, the planning integrates elements of living and working seamlessly.

The idea is interpreted by a curvilinear language that is modern and minimal yet bold and clear in its form, creating two distinct shapes to play with.

The result is two iconic buildings that also translate as a brand, with an office tower and serviced apartments, united by a groundlevel containing entertainment, retail and leisure.

GOOGLE Inspired from the extension plan for the City’s Old Pete Area (Bangalore) by Basavanagudi “The layout had the right balance of residential and open spaces. There were well-defined areas for cultural activities, religious structure, schools and even clubs. It had spaces for all amenities that would make a neighbourhood vibrant”

The plan was such that everything one would want in daily life, was available within a 10-minute walk. The design was so planned to let the residents engage symbiotically with each other. It was conceived as a place for everyone and where everything is in its place

The Google Campus is designed to

be a flexible and adoptive workspace that focus on employee well-being and creates/ promotes casual interactions, between Google employees. At the core of this are the key principles of;

Identity

Sense of Arrival

Collaboration

“Neighbourhood & Community based facilities Connected space

Wellness

Physical Activity Space, Social Space, Spiritual and Emotion based space, Intellectual Space

People

Googlers (as they are known) are encouraged to work where ever they fell comfortable and given a variety of environments to work in, from quiet rooms through to collaborative lounge areas that promote creativity. More team based work takes place in a series of work neighbourhoods. These are strictly private to employees of Google and each has their own unique identity. These will have their

own meeting spaces and ideation area’s often with an individual pantry to hand. Amenities such as the Gym, Spa, Nap pods and training rooms promote healthy living and wellness, whilst allowing employees to de-stress, and are often supplemented with their own coffee/beverage bar. Generous in space this area ,through healthy meals and variety of offer, encourages all employees to go and interact with each other and is the heart of the office, and contributes to overall productivity.

Place

The reception is not only an introduction and showcase for the brand, employees and visitors alike can actually use the touchdown facilities to work from as soon as they get in. Each campus is anchored by a centrally located Canteen and Atrium.

Design

The space is flexible enough to adapt to a number of events and big announcements as well as the weekly Friday town hall with Larry Page and Sergey Brin, that is broadcast via digital screens.

Work Neighbourhood

Each work neighborhood consists of a series of spaces that encourages open interactions, intense teamwork and the need for concentration all in equal measure. The connectivity between floors that is so important to the ethos at Google is provided by a large double height stair at the heart of each community. Not only does this promote circulation but it also acts as a platform for sharing, workshops and social gatherings between teams. Adjacent to this is a large touchdown informal working space that for collaborate or spontaneous working. A series of flexible project rooms can be adapted for a variety of team based scenarios and open up to the adjacent workspace. The pantry bookends each side of the floor plate providing healthy drinks and snacks as wells

areas for group ideation and thinking. Each work neighborhood has its own distinct identity based on a distinct district in Bangalore from souks at M.G road to the energy of Lavelle Road. These interventions plug in to the materiality of the building shell with splashes of colour and surfaces clad in warm candle teak with simple cut forms inspired by the regions story. In this example we have created a space based on the famous conservatories of Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens, with clean arcs representing the framework of the glasshouse structure and using the vibrant hues of fuchsia, gold and orange from the carpet of flowers below.

St. James Power Station

This is a place where visitors and employees can reflect and live the Mapletree DNA. To achieve this we planned the environment to reflect the key drivers of business and communities and where they come together in a hospitality focussed environment - creating a level of excellence for both visitors and employees. A business high street runs through the buildings creating a focused point of connectivity. A communities hub binds together the private and public amenities spaces

and where these two overlap is a vertical core of hospitality driven experiences. The circulation, connectivity and amenities between the 3 blocks are arranged in such as way that the development can be rented to one single tenant or multiple tenants. The public areas radiate from the collaborative heart of the office. Focused around and spilling out from the grand stair they provide collective spaces for interaction, collaboration and creation.

ENTRPENUER EXPERIENCE Bambooco Co-founder Entrepreneurial project design of manufacture, marketing and sale of bamboo sunglasses. I could tell my life by joining coincidences. And because of the fate of fate, on one of those trips, a day when it was very sunny, it occurred to me that we could rethink the design of an object as common as sunglasses. I decided that I could make my own specs.

&

At first it was very difficult, I had no idea how glasses were manufactured, so the process started from scratch. In the model shop with the laser cutting machine. The first thing I did was to get cheap glasses and I started to tear them apart, to do tests, to look for wood, lenses, hinges, etc. It was weeks of trial and error. I finally got my first prototype. The lenses were a success. At first I planned to make them for myself but my friends were slowly asking me for more products, and that is how one by one different models came about . Another model and another model emerged. More and more customers. Suddenly a business mod-

product el came about and without really planning for it. A few months later I created a work team and launched out he first collection. For the first collection we organized a launching party brunch at one of the hip bars in town, Sirilo. I started getting some press presence and the interviewer asked us where we saw each other in ten years, it wasn’t working for a big company, it was in

our company. We ask ourselves, and if we dedicate ourselves to do this that I like so much? We didn’t know what was going to happen from then on, but that simple idea was what gave us the first impulse. That moment in which one decides that one wants to do something is crucial, and despite not having the idea completely thought out, that was what made us move.
