“One missing child is one too many.” John Walsh The DNA LifePrint Child Safety Event, endorsed by John Walsh! Manteca, CA (November 22, 2010) – Phil Waterford, President and owner of Phil Waterford’s Manteca Ford & Exotic High Line on November 13th hosted the DNA LifePrint Child Safety Event, endorsed by the host of America Most Wanted and Crime Fighter, John Walsh . “The abduction of a child is a tragedy. No one can fully understand or appreciate what a parent goes through at such a time, unless they have faced a similar tragedy. Every parent responds differently. Each parent copes with this nightmare in the best way he or she knows how.” John Walsh. Phil Waterford is known in the community as not only the President and owner of the #1 Ford’s dealership for the San Francisco region but for his philanthropy work. “Approximately 2,100 missing-children reports are filed each day. If a child becomes missing, parents greatly increase their chance of quickly recovering their child if they immediately provide to the proper authorities the information they will obtain through this program.” said Waterford. “We were pleased to partner with John Walsh and DNA LifePrint to facilitate the necessary tools to help with the recovery of a missing child” he added. 182 children and their respective parents were provided with the tools to accomplish most of the recommendations from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The program provided at no cost a FBI Certified Biometric 10 Digit Fingerprint Profile, a high resolution full color Digital Photograph of the child, a Child Safety Journal which will provide law enforcement officials with all the necessary vital information about the child and other important facts they will need immediately after a child is reported missing and a Home DNA Identification Kit that is easy to use and lasts through generations. “DNA is the fingerprint of the 21st century,” John Walsh. Children enjoyed a good time around Shrek, Scooby Doo and Dopey, danced to the music of DJJD and had an awesome time inside a ounce house provided by Funs & Games Rentals. Additionally, the dealership gave away a WII game; Laura Nava, from Manteca and mother of two walked away as the winner!
