The Texas Stars would like to thank you for your service through a special Military Appreciation Weekend. To show our gratitude, we will offer complimentary tickets to area military families. Reserve your FREE tickets now for Friday March 9th and/or Saturday March 10th as the Texas Stars take on the San Antonio Rampage. -Email Address to issue a confirmation Our players will skate in special camouflage jerseys on both evenings, which will be auctioned off to benefit area charities serving our military community. We will feature flag presentations, color guard presentations, and special activities throughout the weekend. On Saturday evening, the first 3,000 fans in the building will receive a Texas Stars Digi Camo baseball cap courtesy of United Heritage Credit Union. Tickets will be available for pickup at the Cedar Park Center box office beginning Thursday, March 8th. Tickets not picked up in advance will be placed at will call the evening of the requested games. The Cedar Park Center box office hours are Monday – Friday 10 am – 6 pm and on Saturday beginning at 10 am – game time due to an Austin Toros basketball game. Thanks to generous corporate partners and sponsors, we have a high quantity of tickets available. Please feel free to send this information out to other military families in your network. 2012 AFAP Conference FORSCOM will host its 2012 AFAP Conference 30 April -3 May in Fayetteville, NC. Fort Hood has been granted two delegate slots. 1-Active Duty, Married E5-E6 and 1 Spouse of a 1LT-CPT. All interested should contact Diane Mansfield-Williams, the Program Manager for Army Family Team Building. There will be a selection process to determine who will get these slots. Nominations must be received NLT 1 Mar. This is a funded TDY, however, Childcare is not funded. Additionally, they are accepting applications for experienced facilitators, recorders, transcribers and issue support persons. Final selections will be made by FORSCOM. Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area An Egg Hunt in the dark, whoever heard of such a thing? Bring your children to Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area’s (BLORA) Flashlight Egg Hunt, April 5. Over 63,000 eggs are hidden for children 2- 12 years old to find. Pre-hunt activities begin at 6 p.m. and include: concessions, attractions, photos with the Easter Bunny and more. The hunt begins at 8:30 p.m., but BLORA’s gate closes at 8:10 p.m., so get there early. Children ages 2 – 7 years old, must hunt with an adult. The fee is $6 per passenger vehicle and more for larger vehicles. Flashlight Egg Hunt is open to the public. For more information, call 254-287-2523. BLORA is located on North Nolan Road approximately 10 miles from East Range Road. Access to park is also possible from FM 439 and Sparta Road.

Honor our veterans by making “saddle bags� to donate to veterans staying at the Olin E. Teague Medical Center. These handy bags attach to walkers and wheelchairs to make carrying belongings easy. Previous sewing experience is not required. However, if you have a sewing machine, iron, or ironing board you prefer to use, feel free to bring them. There will be a limited number of sewing machines available. The Crossroads to Texas Quilt Guild will be providing fabric and patterns. If you prefer to bring your own fabric, you will need a yard of good quality, sturdy, woven cotton or cottonpolyester blend fabric appropriate for adults. We ask that children be 10 or older. Children ages 10-12 must be accompanied by a parent. Lunch will be provided around noon and snacks will be available. You can stay all day or come for a couple hours.
