Information Worth Reading Military Spouse Emerging Leader Course: Unit leaders and their spouses fill many roles, such as that of a supporter, advisor, mentor, coach, organizer, role model, teammate, communicator and networker. The Military Spouse Emerging Leader Course is designed to equip future/ current military spouse unit leaders with key information, resources and skills necessary for being informed, involved, productive and proactive members of unit teams. This course offers a wealth of information and is ideal for the spouses of noncommissioned officers (squad, team, platoon, and company leaders) and the spouses of commissioned officers (platoon and company leaders). Wearing purple is a visible symbol of support and thanks for military children for their strength and sacrifices. Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military. "Operation: Military Kids" is the U.S. Army's collaborative effort with America's communities to support children and youth impacted by deployment. Regardless of whether Families are experiencing deployment for the first time, the second time or another in a series of multiple deployments, OMK's goal is to connect military children and youth with local resources in order to achieve a sense of community support and enhance their well-being.
