Perched at the top of a pristine sixacre estate in Little Mountain, Beef Island, guests of the three-building, seven-bedroom Allamanda Estate will be captivated with awe-inspiring views. To the south is Sir Francis Drake Channel, rimmed by many islands such as Buck Island, Cooper Island, Salt Island, Dead Chest, Peter Island and Norman Island. Guana Island, Little Camanoe, and Great Camanoe. To the north, Guana Island, Little Camanoe, Great Camanoe and the open waters of the Atlantic greet your gaze Northward. The villa is within a three-minute drive or a 15-minute stroll of spectacular Long Bay, Beef Island, with its white sandy beach and crystal-clear azure waters.
Owners Audley and Delma Maduro fell in love with Allamanda Estate some 26 years ago. Their intention, said Delma, was “just to have a look,” but found themselves enchanted by the gorgeous estate and breathtaking beach and ocean views. That first “look” led them to purchase Allamanda Estate, their very own luxury rental property.
Over the years Allamanda Estate has had an impressive lineup of guests. For five years, it also served as Government House, the official residence of the governor of the British Virgin Islands. Guests would have experienced the estate’s Caribbean and European architecture: large entry hall, large arches, a signature stone terrace and courtyards complete with antique furnishings. However, in 2017, Hurricane Irma destroyed much of those design features and paved the way for Allamanda Estate’s modern makeover.
Now newly renovated, Allamanda Estate’s design upgrades are the perfect complement to its beautiful and classically elegant interior. The owners collaborated closely with
architect and interior designer Kelvin Liburd of KDL Designs to combine functionality, technology, and luxury with a Caribbean flair.
Allamanda Estate’s new design comprises three outdoor lounges, including Euphoria, a poolside terrace perfect for a peaceful breakfast, romantic dinner, or for entertaining guests, and The Happy Space, a playful but upscale courtyard patio. Euphoria can accommodate up to 75 guests in the unmatched luxury of a gazebo, firepit, and infinity pool. The Happy Space has an artsy, colourblocked ceiling feature with glass tiles to filter the natural sunlight. The location allows for gatherings of about 50 guests, which may extend to the gardens and courtyard. Both lounges are designed with events in mind and have ample seating and their own bars and half-baths.
The showstopper is Audo’s Rooftop Lounge with a with a 360-degree view of the entire estate, along with uninterrupted scenery of the outer islands and picturesque seascape. This lookout is an ideal spot to catch the sunrise on the horizon, to savour the amazing hues of the sunset, enjoy stargazing, or moonlight as a photographer. The creative possibilities are endless! Audo’s Rooftop Lounge is for use by adults with a signed waiver, and is accessed by a spiral staircase.
Allamanda House
The main event, Allamanda House, is a 7,000-square-foot five-bedroom home in two buildings: the main house and the Garden Suites. The main house is equipped with a gourmet kitchen and spacious dining room, elegant living room, and lounge/TV room. Two of the three bedrooms have king-size beds, one of which has the option to convert into two twin beds. Both rooms have stunning ocean views and patio access. Guests in the third bedroom are certain to feel relaxed watching lush gardens from their queen bed. All bedrooms have beautifully appointed en-suite bathrooms.
The courtyard leads you to the Garden Suites, which houses two king-size bedrooms, The western bedroom has a patio and master bath with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows. This design feature is sure to wow, inviting sunlight, secret gardens, and ocean views to the space. While the eastern bedroom doesn’t mirror its next-door counterpart, it is equally aesthetically pleasing with its corner window and not without beautiful garden

Hummingbird Cottage
Nestled in a beautiful tropical garden is Hummingbird Cottage. This private and cozy two-bedroom getaway provides amazing beach, ocean, and garden views. The open kitchen and dining space extends to a lovely living room and patio for dining and other small social gatherings. Both bedrooms have private patios, while the entire space is made a home with modern furnishings and private laundry.
The master suite in Allamanda House is equipped with a state-of-the-art audiovisual setup, remote-controlled drapes, and a large ensuite bathroom, not to mention a breathtaking view.
Options for renting this fabulous villa are either the entire seven-bedroom estate, the five-bedroom Allamanda House, and the two-bedroom Hummingbird Cottage.
Aside from a luxurious stay, Allamanda Estate welcomes private functions including weddings, family celebrations, corporate gatherings, wellness events or couples’ retreats. The villa provides the amenities, privacy and comfort of a private island, but with the right amount of access to restaurants, beaches, and on-island entertainment. Long Bay and Well Bay beaches are a stone’s throw away, while casual dining and live music are an option at any of the restaurants in nearby Trellis Bay. Other wonderful dining experiences are within a 12-minute drive of Allamanda Estate.
For lovers of the environment, Allamanda Estate also offers open and private green spaces in which to bask in natural sunlight, enjoy nature walks in the existing floral oasis, and to soon taste the harvest from the planned vegetable and herb gardens.
While the open floor design of the estate welcomes cool ocean breezes, and while we endeavor to make Allamanda Estate a renewable energy space, sustainability is currently provided by a standby generator to ensure an uninterrupted level of comfort with ceiling fans, air conditioning units, WiFi service, and a wireless printer, the latter of which means that business professionals won’t miss an email or presentation. House games including board games, beanbags and horseshoes also make for a fun stay. Want to take a trip to one of the nearby beaches? Snorkel gear, beach umbrellas, and chairs are available at the estate for your pleasure.
