5A4: Make appropriate use of a range of research methods to investigate a topic and produce work relating to the critical, cultural or social context of art and design. (Knowledge & Understanding - Research and Critical Awareness)
A range of research methods can be found mostly in my blog posts. I have extensively researched the different aspect of each brief which I needed to in order to complete them to a high standard. My research was mainly made up of looking at preexisting products such as cards and book covers, as well as creating questionnaires to aid me in my research.
5B3: Generate ideas, concepts, proposals, solutions and/or arguments using the language, materials, processes and techniques of a designated discipline. (Cognitive Skills - Problem Analysis, Problem Solving)
Most of this can be found in my sketchbook as well as on my blog. It can be seen in the form of mainly quick roughs, material tests and mock ups. I have never made a mock up before this module and have found it to be rewarding in the way that I can see what my designs would look like on different products and locations.
Satisfactory
5C3: Respond to set briefs or proposals in a professional context. (Practical Skills - Visual Quality and Conceptual Development)
This is clearly evidenced on my blog and in my presentation boards. Taking part in competition briefs has been a new thing for me and has made me consider what other people think of my work more, whilst also spending more time focused on the presentation of my final outcomes.
Satisfactory
5D3: Exercise selfmanagement skills in managing their workloads and meeting deadlines/apply interpersonal and social skills to interact with others. (Key Transferable Skills, Organisation, Communication and Evaluation)
This can be found in my blog posts where I have Satisfactory discussed feeling behind at times as I have been a bit lax throughout responsive meaning I have had to rush some things as well as forgetting to submit my Penguin Book Cover Award brief. I have struggled with the social aspects of responsive for reasons I cannot help or change any time soon. I have learnt from this module that I needn’t be afraid to ask for help or talk to fellow students as much as I am.
