A Gift That Can Change the World. Bequests: Supporting Alphacrucis College

It’s never too late to change the world - to leave a bequest is one of the most powerful ways in which a person can contribute to their community for the future generations to come. Alphacrucis College (AC) has an outstanding history of training thousands of men and women who now serve the church of Jesus Christ throughout the world. Since 1948, AC has been the national ministry training college of Australian Christian Churches (ACC) / Assemblies of God in Australia (AGA). By AC’s 75th anniversary, AC is committed to becoming a Christian university. The vision of a university could be daunting, but we believe this endeavour will better enable us to equip future generations of Pentecostal leaders across religious, social, economic and political sectors. Previous bequests received at AC have made a significant impact on our growth as a College, and I invite you to also consider making such an investment. It is never too early or too late to consider the impact your bequest can make on the future generations of students, and help us to achieve our goal of becoming a University. Your gift can change the world.

A Gift For the Generations To Come Christ taught his believers the importance of laying up treasure in heaven (Matthew 6:20) and we trust that you are already serving God and storing precious treasure in heaven. Nonetheless, we also accumulate some earthly treasure during our lifetime – treasure that we plan to leave to our loved ones after we are gone. You can also plan to leave some treasure that will enable others to better serve God. By making a bequest to AC, you will partner with us in training and equipping Christian leaders to change the world. “I started my studies at AC in 2009 and right from the start have enjoyed the experience and found it rewarding both professionally and personally, so I was very excited to be able to partner with AC by giving financially. It is satisfying to give to such a worthwhile cause. I believe what God says about the righteous leaving an inheritance for their children’s children (Proverbs 13:22); and giving financially towards AC is a way of me partnering with God’s Word. It’s also a way for me to acknowledge the contribution AC has made in my life and to show my gratefulness in a practical manner. Giving is a way for me to help strengthen the foundations for the next generation of leaders.”

Where Will You Leave Your Legacy? When preparing your Will, your family and those close to you should be the first ones you consider when dividing up your estate. You can also consider those influences that helped shape your life, such as AC (or previously SCC or CBC). By leaving a legacy, you perpetuate the influence you received for generations to come. AC has an outstanding record of training men and women in their academic and spiritual development. Thousands of graduates serve the church of Jesus Christ throughout the world. There are many more thousands to come. Can you imagine a better legacy than contributing to the lives of pastors, teachers, and leaders – Christian leaders with lives of significant purpose and service - because of you?

You can be sure your positive and lasting when you

gift achieves something you include AC in your will.

Your Bequest Can Change the World in So Many Ways AC can help you identify an area of giving that best fits your desires. You may consider making a bequest to one or more key areas.

Supporting AC’s general fund

Leaving a gift to the general fund is a crucial investment into the growth of AC and will provide valuable resources that will ensure our continued success.

Supporting deserving students

Scholarships are a vital way that you can help passionate, Christ-centred students attend AC. AC’s Scholarship Fund has helped many students unlock their potential and go on to change their world.

Supporting the university vision

The University Vision requires an initial investment of $5,000,000. Your support, whether large or small, will help AC move towards this goal.

Supporting research

Innovative and collaborative research is at the heart of building AC as an internationally reputable academic institution. Investing in AC Research is an investment in the future of the college.

How do I make a Bequest? Thank you for your generosity, thoughts and prayers. Your bequest will enable us to provide an education that empowers students and leaders to change the world – and you will play a vital part in this.

Leaving a bequest is simple, but will have a lasting effect.

AC recommends that you consult independent legal advice. Any bequest should be made after family and friends have been considered. • You can bequest a specific amount of money. • Your bequest to AC can take effect after the death of your spouse. In this way, your spouse retains your estate for his or her life. • A percentage or the entirety of your residuary estate can go to AC. • Particular items such as shares, paintings or property can be left to AC. • You can make a bequest to AC through a perpetual testamentary trust that will provide ongoing financial support to the College. • AC can be nominated as the sole beneficiary in your life insurance policy, or the bonuses of life insurance can be paid to AC.

Wording for Bequests The following guidelines may be used in consultation with your advisors when drafting your will.

Unrestricted Bequest:

I give, devise and bequeath the (whole/portion/residue) of my estate OR (to the sum of $__) to Alphacrucis College for its general purposes.

Or
