IMPACT STORY: LOVING

Providing a meal to someone in need is about more than just food. Each meal gives nutrition, energy and relief.

As we’ve all seen, COVID-19 has been relentless on food pantry shelves, many of them empty. Organizations scramble still today to stock them as daily needs continue.

Our own sister, Nicole Binkley, Upsilon-University of Oklahoma, sees it every day as Metrocrest Services’ Chief Operating Officer. Metrocrest Services provides a food pantry as a part of its mission to help Oklahoma families and seniors escape poverty. It was one of 45 organizations across North America to receive an Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation Fighting Hunger Grant this year.

Our food pantry numbers have gone up 367% because of COVID,” Nicole said. “The funding we get from organizations like the Foundation is critical to making sure that families are fed.

Since answering the call to fight hunger in 2017, the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation has awarded $1,000,000 in grants to 88 organizations in 34 states and provinces.

Thanks to you, our one million acts of kindness have supported local food pantries, food banks and meal assistance programs for children, families and seniors by providing nourishment, care and hope.

Thanks to our generous donors,45 fighting hunger organizations throughout the United States and Canada were awarded grants totaling $250,000in 2020-21. In just four years, the Foundation has awarded grants totaling one million dollars in the fight against hunger.
