Hilbright Science College endeavours to give its students a vibrant and exciting learning environment GREAT news for upcoming scientists! Hilbright Science College has opened a 100-students-only campus for Forms 1 to 6 in Eastlea, Harare. The College’s Micro Schools features small classes of up to 20 students only for enhanced pupil-teacher interaction and intensive Biology, Chemistry and Physics practicals in well equipped labs. With the recent introduction of its Eastlea campus, in addition to the existing Harare and Mutare campuses, students now have increased variety of campuses to choose from. Enrolment policy The College’s enrolment policy of 55% girls and 45% boys has encouraged the girl child, who traditionally avoided science subjects, to major in sciences proving that girls can do as well as boys given equal opportunities. Measurement of success Academic and professional excellence is the College’s motto. The hallmark of Hilbright Science College is that of a results-oriented institution offering high quality specialised tuition services. The College has over the years achieved over 95% high quality results for both “O” and “A” Levels. Hilbright Science College is a registered Zimsec and Cambridge examinations centre. Former Hilbright Science College students proceed with their studies at tertiary institutions such as the University of Zimbabwe Medical School and at other reputable international universities and colleges studying mainly medicine, engineering and actuarial science. Quality has been the College’s desire in its quest to get the students to excel. Social responsibility Hilbright Science College, an institution established to benefit society at large, is sensitive to the needs of the community it serves. The College values the community it operates within and has, through the Counsel0ling and Guidance Department, implemented several social responsibility/community outreach projects. To fulfil its social responsibility obligations, Hilbright Science College has set up a scholarship programme which every year assists a total of four students from the College’s three campuses. Hilbright Science College has a students Financial Aid/Scholarship Programme which has helped and continues to help several students to complete their “O” and “A” Level studies. Several students including those on half scholarships benefit from the Hilbright Science College Financial Aid/Scholarship Programme every year. In addition, discounts of varying percentages are offered as financial aid to deserving
students Extra-curricular activities At Hilbright Science College it is not all work and no play. Thursday afternoon students participate in sports and other extra curricular activities. Empowering clubs give students a chance to relax from academic programmes as they take part in the following - Music, Debate, Public Speaking, Drama, Financial Literacy, Charity, Choir, Youth Against Aids, Science Club, Magazine and BOOST. All college staff members are encouraged to be involved in mentorship activities which help students and other members of the community within Hilbright Science College operates. The College’s human resources department creates opportunities for staff to gain satisfaction from work. Starting a College from scratch and to continue seeing to its growth is not any easy task and this encourages both staff and students to welcome challenges in life as part of growing. Practicals offered at affordable fees In recognition of private students’ need to conduct Practicals, Hilbright Science College offers Biology, Chemistry and Physics Practicals in well-equipped laboratories to individuals and small groups at affordable fees. Tuition and “O” & “A” Level Practicals for individuals and small groups are offered. Hilbright Science College has over the years run several holiday programmes which give students opportunities to prepare for both Cambridge and Zimsec June and November exams.
