It’s time we hear from the youngest voices at Alpine, our next generation, on their Alpine experience and what they see for the future of the Club. Their optimism and creativity when thinking about what lies ahead for Alpine is inspiring, and who knows? Maybe some of these great ideas will be a reality one day!

When you envision Alpine Ski Club in the future, what do you see?

When I envision Alpine in the future, I see a thriving ski and snowboard community full of dedicated members and a place for families and friends to enjoy their winters. – Max Lampert, age 13

When I envision Alpine in the future, I see more runs and some glades to ski in, and a pool with a hot tub. – Nicholas Chubb, age 11

I think Alpine will have ski hills with sparkles on them and rainbow-coloured hills that tastes like cotton candy. – Blake Perreault, age 5 I see Alpine in the future having large fries for $1 and more ski lifts and hills to ride and explore. – Liam Cotnam, age 9

When I think of Alpine’s future, I see a new lift where the Arrowhead Chair is that is super cool looking and has an auto restraining bar that comes down after a certain point. I also see a cool entrance to the North side that has cool artwork on it of things like bears and a big Alpine logo with northern lights over it. – Ewan Kirkpatrick, age 12 I think there’s going to be a hotdog station at the top of the hill. – Kiera Grossman, age 3

I see new hills and new rooms in the clubhouse. – Cam Grossman, age 8

I see being a big 18-pack instead of a 6-pack chair. – Grayson Cotnam, age 9 Bigger with more hills and the ability to go down the chairlift. – Ava Bleeman, age 8

Busier and bigger and a place that everyone wants to go to. – Emma Bleeman, age 11

I think about skiing with my friends and my family. I hope me and Beckett, and Grayson and Liam will all be skiing together with our kids, and my mom will be a Nonna and still skiing too. – Bennett Perreault, age 9

What is something about Alpine Ski Club that you hope never changes?

Something at Alpine that I hope never changes is the atmosphere, for example, just finding your friend on the hill and then going for lunch with your family, and having an amazing après-ski.– Max Lampert, age 13

What I hope never changes is how nice the people are and the poutine! – Nicholas Chubb, age 11

The names of the hills! They are fun and easy to remember, and describe the hill’s difficulty really well, like how Challenge is, well, a challenge, and ABC is the starting point for skiing on the hills! – Ewan Kirkpatrick, age 12

I hope my favourite hill never closes (Neutron). – Cam Grossman, age 8

I hope Long Johns will always have bumps and May Day will always have fresh powder. – Grayson Cotnam, age 9 I hope nothing changes; I love it all. I hope the delicious muffins never change in the cafeteria. Oh ya, and I hope the Magic Carpet never changes too. I also hope I will always get snow on my face when we go sledding and I really like going on the ski lifts with I hope the food like the McAlpines and the salty french fries don’t change and the hills never change. I love the Ascot jump and going through the trees at the bottom of Arrowhead. – Bennett Perreault, age 9

What is your favourite thing about Alpine Ski Club?

My favourite thing about Alpine Ski Club is the Terrain Park. – Max Lampert, age 13

My favourite part of Alpine is racing and talking to friends on the chairlift. – Nicholas Chubb, age 11

The friendliness of everyone if there is one thing I love, but it’s hard to pick just one. Tied with that is the après! I have a ton of fun at them, and the kid ones are great! I have had lots of great experiences with friends doing them. – Ewan Kirkpatrick, age 12 Skiing with Jada (her first ski instructor). – Kiera Grossman, age 3

Definitely skiing, because that’s what I love, definitely the best! – Heath Grossman, age 6

I really love the Steeps because of how crazy fast I can go and I get to ride on my Papa’s chair (chair #1) even though he’s not around to ski with us anymore and it’s like he’s riding the chair with us. – Grayson Cotnam, age 9 Skiing, because it’s really fun and I love it, a lot, Kent is my favourite run. Also, one of my favourite things is the feeling of my feet being off the ground, hanging and being moved to the top of the hill. – Liam Cotnam, age 9

Spending time with friends and making new friends. – Ava Bleeman, age 8

Spending time with family. – Emma Bleeman, age 11 My most favourite thing is skiing with my mommy and daddy and racing and beating all the older kids because last year I was 4 and I did pretty good. – Blake Perreault, age 5

My favourite thing about Alpine is riding the chair with my family. On the last weekend, I always feel sad leaving Alpine but my mom says that feeling sad is a good thing because it means that Alpine is like home. – Bennett Perreault, age 9
