Alpine Club of Canada
Canada's national mountaineering organization, The Alpine Club of Canada, was established in 1906. The non-profit club is volunteer driven, with over 10000 members in local sections across Canada, the USA and around the world. The club promotes alpine access and environmental preservation; carries out mountaineering safety and research studies; promotes mountain heritage and culture; provides winter and summer mountaineering adventure trips in Canada and abroad; and operates a Clubhouse in Canmore, Alberta, and 25 backcountry huts in the mountains of Alberta and British Columbia.
