Economics & Business Studies Teacher in Charge of Subject: Miss Potts Entry Requirements: This course requires a sound level of numeracy and a good standard of written English. You will need to have gained at least B grades in Maths and English at GCSE. You do not need to have studied GCSE Business Studies to do this course.

Course Details: Two units covering the AS part of the course;  Unit 1 - Developing New Business Ideas (External Exam). Topics include entrepreneurship, business plans & financing new ideas.  Unit 2b - Business Economics (External Exam). Topics include market forces, business size, inflation, unemployment & the business cycle. Two units covering the A2 part of the course;  Unit 3: International Business (External Exam). Topics include international markets, India’s & China’s economic power, globalisation and multinationals.  Unit 4b: The Wider Economic Environment & Business (External Exam). Topics include market failure, regulation and government policy to influence the economy.

Career Options: Students may go on to study a variety of Business and/or Economics related degrees at university. Both subjects also combine well with Accounting, Politics, Geography, Law and Foreign languages at degree level. A wide range of career options naturally follow from studying Business & Economics.
