22% went to Russell Group Universities (last year 27%). This decrease was not due to students dropping grades as only 2 students who had offers at Russell Group missed their place. It is possibly due to students choosing to apply to universities with strong vocational links. 21% went to local Universities (last year 20%)
9 ex-students also all successfully applied through school. They included students studying History at Oxford, Natural Sciences at Durham and Biomedical Science at Queen Mary.

Total students applied for university
Students did find that universities were being much stricter on entry requirements this year, luckily most students had been sensible with their insurance offer and still got a place. Many not getting their original place opted for a non-uni route rather than risk a clearing place on a course or uni that they were not sure about.
