MacSincerely,Ehrhardt, president SEED VALUE, SIMPLICITY
The year 2023 marks our 100th year in business! As we continue to grow, our promise to you is to continue sticking to our core values and to provide even more value to farmers for the next 100 years and beyond. Thank you for your business, and we hope you have a safe and prosperous fall.

2 2023 VIKING CONVENTIONAL SEED GUIDE
V iking Seed is growing, but we are not leaving our values behind. Our goal is to bring value to farmers by providing corn, soybean, and alfalfa genetics with the best on-farm performance, along with simple and transparent pricing and practical customer service. For many seed companies, non-traited corn and soybean seed is an afterthought or a sideline. At Viking, it’s all we do. We are 100% committed to sourcing, evaluating, and producing the very best non-GMO hybrids and varieties. Viking conventional, non-traited hybrids; soybean varieties; and alfalfa have the performance you need to plant with confidence. We evaluate hundreds of available hybrids and varieties (from large and small breeding programs) to bring you products that not only maximize yield potential but provide consistent on-farm yield with agronomics you can rely on. Our seed is priced without gimmicks, giveaways, or hidden costs. Sure, we could have a 16% early-pay discount and give you a Gator, but we’d have to raise our prices (a lot) to pay for that. We also don’t pay for shipping (which some of you don’t like) but “free” shipping is not “free”—you’d pay for it in the price of the seed. We think it is simpler and more fair to allow farmers the freedom to pick up their seed, buy it through a dealer, or find the most economical way to get it to the farm. We don’t just want to sell you seed. Because Viking is owned by Albert Lea Seed, you have access to a customer service team that understands cover crops, small grains, and forages, and can help you make decisions about integrating those crops into your operation. Our sincere goal is to help you be successful by providing practical information to help you make the best decisions for the way you want to farm.

4 2023 VIKING CONVENTIONAL SEED GUIDE 88-84W 84-day CRM • Taller hybrid with great overall stress tolerance • Strong adaptation in northern zones & west • Excellent overall plant health • Strong emergence & early vigor, good choice for cornon-corn acres 88-94W 94-day CRM • Solid plant health & agronomics • Excellent stress tolerance, even on lighter soils with lower CEC • Good plant health & disease tolerance • Strong emergence & early growth lead to fast canopy closure Why do Viking Workhorse Hybrids cost less? We are able to sell these hybrids at a lower cost for four reasons: 1. They are produced using modified female parents which produce more seed per acre, lowering our seed cost. 2. These hybrids carry lower royalties than the royalties we are obligated to pay on the newest, highest-yielding hybrids. 3. They are flat-priced. No Early-Pay discounts or JDF financing. 4. Fungicide treatment only. No Cruiser insecticide. Are these hybrids “old” or “close-out” seed? No. We have selected and produced these are hybrids specifically for this purpose. These hybrids are: • Adapted to your less-productive ground (180 bu/A yield ceiling) • Widely adapted • Drought-tolerant • Flex-eared • Dual-purpose • Conventional hybrids with no traits, no guarantee on GMO purity PROVEN TO DELIVER CONSISTENT, DEPENDABLE YIELDS AT A LOWER COST! WORKHORSE HYBRIDS $115/80,000 SEED UNIT* *No Early Pay Discounts available for Viking Workhorse Hybrid Corn. *Volume Discounts are available.
MOST SEED COMPANIES TREAT ALL OF THEIR SEED CORN WITH INSECTICIDE. WE OFFER YOU THE FREEDOM TO CHOOSE. SAVE $10 PER BAG ON FARMER’S CHOICE – SAVE $10 PER BAG! Save $10 per bag when you order insecticide-free seed corn! Your conventional corn will still be treated with a package of fungicides to protect it from seedling diseases and 2 biologicals (SabrEx & Excellorate) to enhance its health and yield. Please specify “insecticide-free” when ordering by Jan. 15. Limited availability. Available only on these hybrids: 42-92, 51-95, 99-00, 51-04, 48-08 Several university studies demonstrate insecticide-treated seed protects grain yield only in limited circumstances. If you don’t need insecticide-coated (Cruiser, Poncho, etc.) seed corn, don’t pay for it! INSECTICIDE-FREE VIKING SEED CORN www.alseed.com/insecticide-free-viking-seed-corn

2023 VIKING CONVENTIONAL SEED GUIDE We test our hybrids, in the field and in the lab, for silage quantity and quality against leading silage hybrid genetics at similar maturities. Only those hybrids that show consistently excellent tonnage and quality get the Dual-Purpose designation. Why choose Viking Dual-Purpose Hybrids? Because grain has energy. Our Dual-Purpose hybrids are exceptionally high-yielding grain hybrids, so you are going to get a lot of grain in your silage—which equates to higher energy. Dual-Purpose hybrids have an optimal grain-to-stover ratio and have excellent standability compared to low-lignin specialty silage hybrids. • Seed designated with the Ultra-Pure Label are guaranteed to be 99.9% GMO-Free.
• Seed designated with the Pure Label are guaranteed to be 99% GMO-Free We meet this high standard on select corn hybrids and soybean varieties through rigorous purification, geographic isolation, and stringent testing. Additionally, all Viking soybean seed is produced under the Minnesota Crop Improvement Association’s Non-GMO Seed Program, which traces, inspects, and verifies the seed. We can't guarantee that all our Pure and Ultra-Pure line-up is 100% GMO-free, but we do guarantee the seed purity lives up to the label.
Seed Purity is extremely important to farmers growing grain for a non-GMO contract. Not only have we committed the entire Viking brand to seed purity, we have also made significant investments to establish the seed industry’s first non-GMO Purity Guarantee.
