This powder offers a sustainable alternative to synthetic red pigments, while creating new possibilities to answer the growing trend for healthier and cleaner beauty.

New Red 1805 has been crafted for natural makeup designers and especially for lipsticks creators looking for high content of natural-origin ingredients without compromising performance on shade, intensity and stability. Neosalyl™, a fully natural and pure substitute for synthetic salicylic acid New 100% natural salicylic acid for skin and scalp from Givaudan Givaudan Active Beauty launches Neosalyl™, a 100% natural and pure salicylic acid for skin and scalp that is organic compared to its synthetic alternative. Obtained by Green Fractionation from the natural essential oil of the Wintergreen plant, Neosalyl™ brings all its benefits in dermopurification for skin, and shininess and anti-dandruff for hair care.

Beauty consumers are looking for more natural products, massively rejecting chemicals, as they see natural ingredients as safe and trustworthy.

According to Mintel, 72% of consumers would be most interested in using beauty, grooming and personal care products that are made using natural alternatives to synthetic ingredient or natural ingredients adapted in a lab.

This trend keeps growing in any culture and challenges the composition and origin of personal care ingredients, as of today, 3 out of 4 women are scanning product composition and looking for hero ingredients. In fact, salicylic acid is, with Hyaluronic acid and Retinol, one of the most known ingredients by consumers, always looking for performance to take care of their skin and hair.

Safe effective peeling and strong keratolytic agent Due to its exfoliating properties, Neosalyl™ is a safe and effective peeling agent for a large number of cosmetic purposes for skin care, such as exfoliation, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial benefits, raising it as the perfect active for prone-to-acne skin conditions. As a strong keratolytic agent, Neosalyl™ is also a very good synergistic active for the treatment of dandruff.

From leaf to salicylic acid Neosalyl™ is extracted from Wintergreen leaves, sourced in Southwest of China in the Yunnan province by small farmers. Rich in essential oil composed of methyl salicylate, they immediately produce the crude essential oil of fresh raw material in a completely traceable supply chain.

Then, it is in Givaudan Centre of Excellence in Avignon (France), that their

phyto-experts begin a green fractionation process to transform the methyl salicylate and obtain the ingredient.

To warrant the authentication of the raw material and the natural origin of salicylic acid from wintergreen, botanical experts apply an exhaustive set of analysis named IDPack. It includes botanical observation, DNA analysis, GC/FID and isotopic 14C measurement to clearly identify each botanical ingredient.

Clean beauty cocktail with Neosalyl™ To inspire the beauty industry, Active Beauty formulation team crafted S3D® Powderful. This 11-Ingredient clean beauty cocktail combines Neosalyl™ with powdered hyaluronic acid (PrimalHyal™ 300) for skin immune defense reinforcement and wound healing, as well as biodegradable exfoliating particles (Biogomm’age W180) designed for sensitive skin.

This water-free formula is highly concentrated. By adding few drops of water, it turns into a foaming milk to apply to the face. After a gently massaging into the skin and then rinsing, it reveals a cleaner skin and brighter complexion.

This unique active will increase the scalp moisture content, up to +13.8%, reinforce the epidermal cohesion of the scalp keratinocytes, resulting in a reduced number of dry flakes and dandruffs down to -33.6%, and significantly soothe the scalp, with a reduction of its erythema down to -6.6%.

Offering major benefits in one week, K-phyto™ [SC] Camellia also delivers great results after just one single shampoo application, restoring hydration, improving soothing and reducing flakes better than the placebo conditions, for a perfect instant gratification effect.

by Marine Biotechnology. Created from Himanthalia elongata, a brown macro-alga naturally sourced in Brittany, France, B-Lightyl™ is a natural ingredient addressing hyperpigmentation disorders in a preventive and curative way.

On a daily basis, environmental stress such as UV exposure and pollution as well as chronological ageing generate a loss of control in the pigmentation process, which ends up in the appearance of brown and dark spots on the surface of the skin. According to Givaudan Active Beauty’s recent global online consumer study, algae extract is perceived as one of the most effective ingredients with 45% of the Chinese beauty care users choosing it to reduce hyper pigmented spots, a prevailing skin concern that impacts over 70% of consumers worldwide.

Clinical tests of B-Lightyl™ To evaluate the consumers’ benefits of B-Lightyl™ against dark spots and pigmentation disorders, three clinical tests were conducted in double blind versus placebo, on more than 100 volunteers from various ethnic skin types (Caucasian, Asian and African). B-Lightyl™ induces a significant decrease of the melanin content in the dark spots of Caucasian volunteers (down to -12.6% in one month, more than twice better than placebo), a significant reduction of the number of visible spots on Asian skin (-156% in one month) and a significant decline of the melanin content in the hyperpigmentation spot (-327% in 2 months) on African skin.

Himanthalia elongata Himanthalia elongata is a macro-algae growing close to the Pink Granite Coast of Brittany, France. It uses the power of sunlight and captures atmospheric CO2 to produce its key constituents: marine polyphenols, and more specifically phlorotannins.

Givaudan Active Beauty discovered that these powerful marine molecules can reactivate the expression of SDF1, a key target in hyperpigmentation disorders. New sustainable beauty elixir crafted from upcycled Arabica coffee A cosmetic innovation created in partnership with the start-up company Kaffe Bueno brings remarkable skin care benefits to consumers Givaudan Active Beauty is proud to launch Koffee’Up™, a scientifically proven premium coffee oil crafted using upcycling techniques.

Koffee’Up™ is referred to as the “new argan oil” in the beauty industry as a result of its natural, ecoconscious, and effective properties, bringing a myriad of facial skin care benefits to consumers such as hydration, protection, and anti-ageing.
