Mateja Kaluza Christopher Dungar BA (Hons) Drama I chose to study here as this course appeared to be the most diverse and interesting in drama and I have really enjoyed modules such as Performance Practitioners and Special Subject which require a high level of independent study. I would recommend this course to others as you don’t only develop practical sills but you are also able to support your work theoretically through your writing.

BA (Hons) Creative Music Technology

BA (Hons) Music

The course helped direct my goals further toward my chosen career. I have benefitted highly from the Music for Digital Media module as it helped me realise my affinity for composing music for film/games. I enjoyed collaborating with others as well as studying composing for film and also looking at working with games and new media. The third-year Enterprise in the Creative Arts module has helped me further analyse the job prospects in my chosen career through my placement at the recording studio. My ambitions are to work as a studio engineer or in post-production, whilst freelancing as a composer for film/TV etc. My course has provided me with the skillset to do this as well as creating strong links with peers, which may benefit me in the future.

I was initially attracted to the BA (Hons) Music at Anglia Ruskin because of the opportunities to gain experience and knowledge of different fields of music, such as world music, composition and improvisation, gospel and choir singing as well as leading the orchestra and supporting this with theoretical knowledge. Furthermore, I found the interdisciplinary aspect attractive as different modules are offered in collaboration with students from different areas such as Performing Arts and Drama students.

I would summarise my experience as fulfilling, culturally enriching as well as being a great improvement on my skills, hopefully resulting in making me more employable. Tutors were great, modules were stimulating and the support staff very helpful. The overall atmosphere at Anglia Ruskin was brilliant. Music and Performing Arts

I would recommend Anglia Ruskin to study music because of the range of facilities and opportunities offered and mainly because of the support from your lecturers about your ideas, creativity and hard work. Practice rooms were always available, especially if you book them in advance, as well as the use of studios, renting different instruments, and use of computers. Also there are always technicians who are happy to help with aspects of staging such as lighting and sound balance.

The course has links with The Junction, Cambridge and performance artists all over the country. The Mumford Theatre is a professional theatre on the University campus and you get the opportunity to perform on stage in Year 2, which is a great experience. The Drama studios at Anglia Ruskin are all brilliant facilities. My course involves a work placement module in the second semester, which helps you gain experience in the workplace. I believe that this course has given me extensive understanding into my job and the confidence to use the skills I have in the workplace. I hope to study for a PGCE in Drama in the future and I hope this will lead in to teaching. This course has already given me the opportunity to work in a couple of schools to help my experience.

BA (Hons) Performing Arts The reason that I chose to study BA (Hons) Performing Arts at Anglia Ruskin University was the exciting elements that the Performing Arts degree entailed such as, dramatherapy and individual instrumental tuition. Also, To the findcourse out is a fusion of drama, because about musicmore and movement; something to cater for ourthat Cambridge students didn’t want to study just Drama. campus, scan: The main aspect I enjoy of my course is the fact that we collaborate with students from many different courses, giving me an opportunity to learn about many different skills and create diverse and interesting pieces of work. I also like the fact that there is so much scope within each and every module to explore and express your own creative freedom, each module is designed to be exciting and intellectually stimulating. With such a great variety of modules on offer it is certainly an enriching course. The support of the teaching staff is fantastic. Each and every one of the lecturers will go out of their way as much as possible to help you no matter how big or small the problem may be.

Employability is a measure of how easily graduates can find work, remain in work and succeed in it. For a graduate to be seen as highly employable, they must possess and be able to evidence a wide range of skills. We see employability as the ‘Golden Thread’ which runs through all university activities; helping our students to acquire the skills, knowledge, understanding and personal attributes that enable them to choose and secure, satisfactory and successful occupations. In the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences our students gain a range of skills highly desirable by employers and benefit from a range of work place opportunities and industry connections. At Anglia Ruskin we have a dedicated Employability Service which can provide impartial and confidential advice to help you make an informed decision about your education and future career as well Join: www.facebook.com/aruemployability as help you find work whilst studying.
