THE LUNCHBOX
Re-Thinking Office Spaces in India Competition: 2019 Location: Whitefield, Bangalore, India Project type: Individual
16
02. THE LUNCHBOX
Design Brief The main motive of this brief is to design for this generation of entrepreneurs and their aspirations. The competition aims to design a small scale collaborative start up business office for young entrepreneurs in the IT sector. Unlike the conventional office block, which spends a huge annual expenditure on temperature control and structural maintenance, the design should be responsive and adaptive to the local climate and structural systems. The site is located at the edge of Lake in Whitefield,Bangalore. The site is surrounded by a mixed typology of buildings including office areas and residential zones.
Project description The proposed design is a collaborative space for varying size of offices and working environment for individual entrepreneurs with other amenities. The climate of Bangalore and its wind direction along with the shape and size of site has played an important role in defining the form, orientation and allocation of spaces.
