Sulfuric acid reacts with gaseous ammonia. The reaction is highly exothermic, allowing to evaporate the water coming with the recycled solution from the scrubber. The granules are dryed with hot air co-current in a dryer drum, the final product is separated from both the oversized and undersized product, then it is cooled down, coated and sent to storage. The oversized product is crushed and sent back to granulator with undersized product. All equipment are dedusted and the air released to the atmosphere is clean.

The same plant can produce ammonium sulphate nitrate. The ammonium nitrate solution coming from the battery limit is mixed with ammonia and pumped to the pipe reactor where sulfuric acid and ammonia are added. The obtained slurry is granulated and dried. The screen separates the marketable product from the oversized and the undersized. The final product is cooled down, coated and sent to the storage. The oversized product is crushed and sent back together with the undersized particles to the granulator. All equipment are dedusted and the air released to the atmosphere is clean.
