Arik Afek I
n 2010, after a long and very demanding job, Arik found himself at a crossroad. Decisions were not simple to make but the opportunity that presented itself, to make a major change in life was taken. Arik turned to his wire statuette hobby as the new direction. “Art in general, wire sculpture in particular and my family became the new focus of my life” he says. Wire art is fascinating. Wire, the simplest of materials, is an under-appreciated media which allows many different forms of expression. A thread holds the power to express so many states of our soul with only the basics, a single line. These wire lines fill Arik’s world as he continues to explore new directions of expression, combining wire with other media such as canvas, glass and other recycled materials. The wires, he says, “create the balance between mass, energy line andspace, combining in a single breath lightness and gravity, equilibrium and motion.” Afek captures in his works movement, expressions and perhaps a window into the soul of his protagonists. The wires, he says, “create the balance between mass, energy line and space, combining in a single breath lightness and gravity, equilibrium and motion.”

create in a variety of media / techniques mainly in two dimensions. Selecting a means of expression is a by product of the subject of the work, what is most suitable for the particular subject. I often deal with drawing and painting of landscapes and figures, and try to convey something else that exists there, some secret. It is important for me that the work would keep and transmit freshness and vitality. More areas of creation are taken from personal biography and from general legacy (for example from the Bible, and from various mythologies) or from pure interest in working with different materials, such as fabrics, threads, sewing, unraveling, or techniques of print, and most important, the real interest that flows from the heart in the subject of the work. Education: Bezalel Academy in the 1970s. During my studies I received a grant from America - Israel Foundation. In 2002 I received a prize for Jerusalem Painter named after Shoshana Ish Shalom from the Artist House of Jerusalem. I was one of the founders of Agripas 12 Gallery cooperative Gallery and I was a member for ten years. Exhibited many solo exhibitions, and participated in many group exhibitions in Israel and overseas.

David Einav P
hotographer
20 years ago in 1995 there was a demonstration in Kings of Israel. “I thank each and every one of you that came here to night in person,” Rabin finished speaking and turn to Shimon Peres, they embraced and sang with Miri Aloni “Song of Peace” and at the end of the song Rabin descended the stairs and was assassinated. The attached pictures were taken approximately 10 minutes before the shocking murder and printed in an image size of 60 x 90 cm. One of the things that shaped generations of Israeli masculinity is agricultural work on the kibbutz. Even those who lived in the city, see movies, read books, envied the reality and stories about the “tzabar” or the “kibutznik,” found the kibbutz performing early wake-up work, while the birds still sleep in the trees and with a the connection to the landand animals, creating a sublime feeling hard to explain in words. Perhaps even making an exception, and I will use here as too large to define it - elation. It’s a feeling that whoever has not experienced a sunrise field, milking the cows or tending the fish ponds, or collecting the poultry, will never know. Besides, the secret of “professional” kibbutz members is known that women like to feel rough hands stiff from work. David Einav was Born in Israel in 1950 in Kibbutz Beit Alfa and livesthere ever since. Married with 3 children and grandfather of two. For many years he worked mostly as photo journalist collective press \ the Kibbutzim media and agriculture. Has won numerous awards in photo competiions and participated in exhibitions worldwide.

Chava Epstein C
hava Epstein, born in Jerusalem and living in Modiin.
Education: B.A. Art department, Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem. Member of the Jerusalem Association of Painters and Sculptors, Israel. The artist focuses on humans, sometimes in a theatrical encounter. The characters are preoccupied with watching in their inner world and on the outside world that surrounds them, sunk in thoughts. They express the highly dynamic and powerful antithetical emotions of joy and pain. Chava Epstein’s works, which are often interspersed with magical prose, poetry and script she writes, explore a rich variety of worlds and themes, and the media she uses are no less eclectic, ranging from aquarelles, oil, pastels, etching, to ceramics, stones and soft sculpture. Sometimes a combination of image and text, her work beckons the viewer to join a fantastic journey into the lyrical intricacies of life and fantasy, and offers a multitude of intriguing philosophical perspectives. The artist exhibited in 40 solo exhibitions in Israel and abroad, in which she presented a widely diverse body of work (two of which were housed in the Israel Museum, one in the Museum of Art in Ein Harod and four in Space S Gallery, Tokyo, Japan). She participated in about 30 group exhibitions at galleries and museums in Israel and abroad. She is a graduate of The Jerusalem Author Prose Writing Workshop, led by the authors: Isaac Averbuch Orpaz, Chaim Beer, Shulamit Lapid, and David Grossman. Some of her stories are rooted in reality, but many of them sail into the realms of myth, dream, and imagination. She published eight children and adult books, written and illustrated by her. Four of her books were published in English by Amazon: The Heart’s Melody, A Hidden Spring, The Sky’s Blue Eyes, The Vanishing Point.

Ivan Ferrer B
orn in Johannesburg, South Africa, lives in Tel Aviv, Israel.
I am, first and foremost, a photographer of cultures, capturing the uniqueness of each culture through their people - their unique facial expressions and their street scenes. The immense satisfaction I get when I ‘capture the moment’ in a street scene or when I capture that special expression in a portrait keeps me traveling the world to capture more and more special moments. Although street scenes are by nature un-orderly, aesthetic composition is important to me and that is what characterizes my work. A feature of my street portraits are the expressive, almost haunting eyes of the subject, evoking strong emotion in the viewer. These portraits and my other work can be seen on my website www.ivanferrer.com

Eunice Figueiredo I
first became an architect: the desire to create beautiful spaces for people to let them be filled with soul through feelings of well being, esthetics and harmony. As an architect I also work in projects for the preservation and renovation of the heritage in Israel, I am constantly exposed to layers of different civilizations that left their visions imprinted in stone. We reveal images of cities, cultures and dreams buried under the ground being rediscoveredand re-interpreted through present time eyes. Later on, my self unfolded into the mystery of painting and then I became totally committed to art. As an artist I look for the layers of the mind and the experience of the soul written in one’s bones as a bedrock. In painting I work with layers of color; through this exercise, my thoughts take form as line and color, reflecting ideas, imagination and memories. The painting becomes the repository of this dialogue.

Solomon Leviev A
s far back as I am able to remember myself, I found myself drawing or sculpting figures. The sources of my
inspiration are numerous and diverse: a teardrop on the cheek of a hungry child in Africa, bloodied conflicts between nations, victims of violence in our region and other parts of the world and in contrast there are sources such as a dancer’s virtuoso movement, joy on the face of a grandfather, Greek mythology, biblical tales, legends, historical characters and events. All of these move me and then, as if by some mysterious hand I find myself compelled to work in my studio and create new forms and rich, complex compositions. I could not be happier when I see the images in my mind take shape before my very eyes.

Yoav Netta Y
oav Netta, PhD - A painter, musician and conductor.
Dr. Netta was born in Kibbutz Gal-Ed to parents who met in Israel after emigrating from Germany during World War II. Married to Livi and lives in Hadera, on the coastline of Israel. Dr. Netta graduated Oranim college in musical education and pursued his Master degree in music and musicology in Bar-Ilan University in Israel. He received his PhD from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary, in Music Education. Yoav’s painting career started at the age of ten when he won a national painting competition and won a bicycle. Personal bicycles were not allowed back then in the kibbutz and Yoav traded his prize for a guitar, which he still plays to this day. When he was sixteen he founded in kibbutz Gal-Ed a singing group, which performed his original songs. The songs were broadcasted on the “First Applauses” show on the national radio. Since then he has composed original music for many plays, presentations and movies, contributing his part to the soundtrack of the young state of Israel. Yoav did his military service in the legendary NACHAL singing group with Zila Dagan, Ofira Gluska and others. Dr. Netta has represented the state of Israel on the international stage with singing groups he has conducted in many festivals across the world. Through these years Yoav has carried his painting passion, which followed him through his life journey. In the last five years Yoav has painting tirelessly, with a great sensation of happiness and fulfilment, expressing his great creative talent. Many of the motives of Yoav’s musical career find their way to his paintings. His figurative/realistic paintings show a “melodic” line that goes through the shapes, lines and figures in his work. These are also reflected in the choices of colors and scenes he chooses to paint.Yoav’s work was first presented to the public in 2013. Since then his paintings have been exhibited in more than 12 shows, including dedicated shows to Yoav’s work, and in several galleries. In the past year his work has been presented in galleries worldwide with growing interest and demand. The original paintings presented in this show, as well as reproductions are available for sale in any requested size.

Shlomit Raday S
culptor Metal mesh is a unique, unusual material. It offers an opportunity to investigate not only the relations of shape and form but also those between inside and outside, separation and connection. Metal mesh has captured my heart and in the last few years I focused my work on this art form. The simplicity of the material, the way it surrenders to me, the surprise of creating something from nothing and the transparency within and among the images inspire me. Sometimes it is the material it elf, the mesh, that represents the concepts around which the exhibit revolves.

Since retiring, painting has become a main occupation, including a significant number of group and solo exhibitions, and a member of the Israel Painters & Sculptors Association. Work is based on observations of surrounding visually appealing compositions like a certain view from a particularly interesting angle, fascinating. light-shadow interactions resulting from unique combinations of sunlight and cloud or prosaic still-life items with intriguing changes resulting from corrosive processes. The composition as - is is applied to paper or canvas, emphasizing the visually interesting aspects from the point of view of shape, color or texture. In the course of time the areas that have engaged the attention have expanded from still lifes and view from home, towards cityscapes of Haifa with The Stairs. Further - landscapes of Mount Carmel and the Galilee with its ancient olive trees, desert landscapes, and lastly – reflections.
