Derbibrite Single Layer Cold-Applied Reflective Bituminous Warm Roof When to Specify Derbibrite single layer, solar reflective, cold applied, high performance warm roof systems offer the highest levels of durability and waterproof integrity and are engineered to maximise the potential of ‘cool roof’ designs in regulating the internal temperature and therefore heating, ventilation and air conditioning loadings of buildings. Derbibrite’s high reflectivity significantly increases the efficiency of adjacent solar panel installations by reducing the localised ambient temperature.
Key Features Reflectivity With solar reflectivity of greater than 70%, Derbibrite reduces carbon emissions through passive energy saving.
Durability Derbibrite has a high softening point ensuring stability of the membrane in the hottest weather, high tensile strength and excellent puncture resistance. The integral acrylic coating will last as long as 3 layers of ceramic paint.
Performance Derbibrite Cap Sheet Derbibond Cold Adhesive Alumasc GTF PIR Insulation
100% water repellent due to the new ‘easyclean’ nanotechnology, and easy to maintain. Derbibrite’s white surface stays white due to the modified acrylic coating, with guaranteed long-term reflective properties. Derbibrite will last at least 30 years (as with all Derbigum roofs) as less heat absorbed means less aging.
Ecological Derbibrite has no impact on the pH level of water run-off, and is therefore ideal for collection of rainwater. Buildings covered with Derbibrite have considerably lower CO2 emissions thanks to reduced use of air conditioning. The membrane is 100% recyclable.
Quality Alumasc operates a quality assurance management system which is independently audited to BS EN ISO 9001:2008. Alumasc extends this quality management to their network of approved installers, for single source accountability and peace of mind. Nilperm Vapour Barrier

Alumasc actively pursues sustainability in the full range of products and systems the company offers through its accreditation to the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Standard. Alumasc, its partners and its suppliers are committed to putting consideration for the built and wider environment at the core of all aspects of their current business and future development. Derbigum membranes are 100% recyclable.
Derbibrite Single Layer Cold-Applied Reflective Bituminous Warm Roof System Components Application 1. Prime the profiled metal deck with Alumasc Bitumen Primer and allow to fully dry. 2. Apply the Nilperm vapour barrier, fully bonded in hot bitumen to the crowns of the deck, providing edge protection to the insulation board at all perimeters, openings and projections, with 100mm side laps and 150mm end laps. 3. Install Alumasc GTF Polyisocyanurate insulation (flat or tapered) fully bonded in hot bitumen. Boards must be tightly butt jointed and staggered. Suitable alternative insulations can be utilised where appropriate and compatible. 4. Install Derbibrite Cap Sheet, fully bonded in Derbibond cold adhesive, applied evenly by squeegee or spray gun. For optimum speed of installation, use the specialist block bonding pattern. 5. Note: Pre-cut the lower corner of the end of each roll at 45º where it will be overlapped by the end lap of the next roll. 6. Seal side laps (100mm) end laps (150mm) with a shoe burner torch. All laps must be pressure rolled with a 15kg long handled roller. A small (approx 5-10mm) continuous bead of compound must always visible at the joint.
n Derbibrite Cap Sheet is a 3mm acrylic-faced roofing membrane with a highly reflective white surface that reflects the sun’s rays for ‘cool roof’ applications, as well as being grease and fungus resistant, with pH neutral water run-off. Manufactured from a modified co-polymer bitumen for optimum pliability and performance. n Alumasc GTF is a CFC- and HCFC-free polyisocyanurate thermal insulation with plain glass-fibre tissue to both faces and is supplied in 600 by 1200mm boards and a range of thicknesses to suit the required thermal value. n Nilperm is a polyester based high performance vapour barrier with an aluminium core, and is completely resistant to the passage of water vapour. n Alumasc Bitumen Primer is a low viscosity, solvent-based bitumen primer intended to maximise the adhesion of bituminous membranes to metal and porous substrates.
7. All detail work to be executed in Derbibrite, fully bonded by torching. At all upstands install a 100 x 100mm reinforcement strip of Derbigum Black into the angle. The main sheet area must overlap onto the reinforcing strip by the full 100mm. Install a final flashing piece of Derbibrite, fully bonded to the upstand and overlapping onto the main horizontal sheet area by a minimum of 100mm. NB: Derbibrite waterproofing systems are exclusively installed by a nationwide network of Derbigum Approved Contractors.
