WELCOME TO NACCS TEJAS 2023!

As organizers of NACCS Tejas 2023, we welcome you to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, situated on the unceded lands of the indigenous people of El Seno Mexicano - Tejas, Tamaulipas, Coahuila and Nuevo Leon, a territory which has been home to more than 600 tribes and their descendants. As descendants of the indigenous people of the Americas, we have called for a confrontation/resistance to colonial indoctrination and the legacy of racism, colorism and discrimination within our own Chicanx/Latinx communities. It is our hope that this conference will provide a space for decolonial discourse to help us heal and embrace our indigeneity proudly.
