I am a hardworking and diligent student who always strives to produce the best work possible. As a university student, I have developed knowledge and skills that would prove to be of use in this position. Work 百草堂(Tomorrow Together) represents the Chinese medicine concept of healthy living and illness prevention. Tomorrow Together strongly be- believes that if everyone consumes food based on their own body constitution, it is effective in preventing ailments. So start by’Tomorrow Together’, find out your own body type and choose appropriate foods to achieve the Chinese medicine concepts of’medicine and food originate from the same source’ and preventative treatment’. Tomorrow Together is not only a Chinese medicine manufacturer but has developed an online health news social media. As we continue to develop wellness products (for example, drinks and beauty products etc.). The goal is to provide the public with multiple ways to learn about their own body types and find the most suitable way to healthy living.

I’ve taught Alvin for the last three years of the Bachelor of Design Program for Fashion Communication. During this time, Alvin has demonstrated an unbreakable work ethic. Alvin understands challenges in communication and finds solutions through his commitment to creativity, research and theory. I also supervised Alvins’s fourth year capstone, an independent research project with a substantial creative component spanning the fall and winter semesters. While completing his capstone, Alvin engaged in critical thinking by exploring the relationship between theory, research and complex visual communication challenges, specifically in the areas of Branding and Advertising. Alvin is very comfortable working independently on the creative and academic sides while seeking guidance from his supervisors. He also completed courses I taught in Advertising Design, as well as Typography and Graphic Production, where he explored both, digital and print platforms. His creative process continues to develop and grow. He also has the ability to produce impressive results in a wide variety of area demonstrating an excellent eye for detail. I had the pleasure of meeting Alvin at Ryerson University in Toronto during Communication Design 2, a course that serves to introduce Fashion Communication students to the creative and technical processes in graphic design. Alvin’s keen participation, aesthetic criticality and originality, and rapid learning ability quickly differentiated Alvin from their peers. Alvin’s passion, critical eye, and above all experimental creativity and dedication to finding the best solution the design problem presented quickly catapulted them to the top of the class. Alvin was (relatively) inexperienced in design, yet immediately differentiated them-self by deeply engaging in every project showing a rare combination of experimental play and critical thinking; key hallmarks of a good designer. Alvin’s readiness to dive head first into any subject without fear is both commendable and impressive. When designing, Alvin quickly adapted and excelled in leveraging design processes and principles to create exceptional works, all the while learning complex Adobe design software (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator). Alvin’s understanding of typography, colour, hierarchy and tempo are constantly evolving and being pushed in new and interesting ways. Critically, Alvin was one of the few people who quickly synthesized visual research with the design work being produced, developing impressive and original design solutions. Furthermore, Alvin’s calm demeanor and willingness to seek and respond to critique makes for a solid team player who balances expression and problem solving without allowing ego or preconceived ideas to interfere with producing exceptional work. Throughout our time together, Alvin was shown to be an ideal and rare student, leaving me feeling deeply impressed with their work ethic and design and typographic skills.. Whether sharing articles and new-found designers to wrestling with technical issues, Alvin’s creativity, attention to detail, and pursuit of excellence is noteworthy.
