West Side Story Posters
Type: Typographic Posters Year: 2017 Course: Communication Design Task: To place plain text and information given regarding a Musical in an appropriate order based on a certain heirarchy of importance. These posters are made up of text only but of different levels like font size and weight. The information is about a musical named “West Side Story that took place at the Dubai Opera. During the process of creating this poster there were a lot of negotiations regarding which set of information was more important than the other. First stage was laying out the text from most to least important, then it was about where on the page would the text go, and finally playing with weight and trying to add in some visual appeal and heirarchy.

Grill Tong Graphic Reduction
Type: Graphic Reduction Year: 2018 Course: Digital Media in Communication Design Task: To select an object and reduce it to its simplest form using Illustrator. This is a graphic reduction of a pair of grill tongs done using a pen tool on Illustrator. The process went from tracing the object to trying to figure out the areas with shadows, then creating a graphically reduced object. This object was also used along with some text, however it was during the process and was not included in the final work. One of the techniques that helped in achieving this final product was to keep squinting and differentiating between light and dark areas.
