The separate pages of the zine are shown in the next few pages. This zine was a way to put all of the information that I had found about the different bodies of water and make them make sense. The two bodies of water I compared were salt marshes and freshwater.

Qualitative
Project 2

In this qualitative project, I continued with comparing the two bodies of water from Capitol Beach Lake and Holmes Lake. This time, instead of comparing the plant life, I decided to do something different. I decided to talk about the different houses and the history of when the lakes began and how they have become. My process
My process These are more notes and pictures that show the growth of Holmes Lake throughout the years.
Holmes Lake
Ty p ol og y
Capitol Beach Lake I took the time to go to each lake and photograph the houses that were interesting, represented the neighborhood well, and the ones that werent interesting to me. There was no system to this, it was just what I thought was a great representation of the neighborhoods around the lakes.

A Tale of Two Communities: Residential Analysis Holmes Lake
Capitol Beach Lake
Shown on the graph is an overview of the age of the homes around Capitol Beach Lake. This graph also shows the future of where I think the lake is headed. As I drove around the lake and the neighborhoods around it, there are many older homes. This lake has become a place where few big houses are built and many middle class families are raising families. There arent too many new homes being built. Shown on the graph is an overview of the age of the homes around Holmes Lake. This graph also shows the future of where I think the lake is headed. As I drove around the lake and the neighborhoods around it, there are many older homes. This area has a mixture of both older generations and newer generations. Unlike Capitol Beach Lake, Holmes Lake is a constantly growing community with houses being built all the time. There are a substantial amout of older homes but thats quickly changing as the years go by
