Volunteer at the Hospital Contact a hospital, and set up a weekly Key Club member schedule for volunteer work. School Supplies Conduct a school supplies and pencil drive in the school. All types of supplies are desperately needed by students worldwide. When all collections have been made, you can contact a local agency for information about shipping the materials. Read to Children Set up a space in a shopping mall or library and read books to children. Contact the Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) program for additional opportunities. Food Drives Post signs around the city to make sure you advertise well. Set up food cans in grocery stores and have Key Club members go door-to-door asking for canned foods. Once food is collected, take it to a food bank, a homeless mission, or to the Salvation Army facility.

Check out these Organizations! Some of these organizations are part of the Major Emphasis Program! Children's Miracle Network saves the lives of children by raising funds and awareness for children's hospitals and foundations throughout North America. Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) is a nonprofit organization that raises money to benefit hospitalized kids while increasing awareness of its member hospitals. All CMN contributions directly benefit hospitals, helping to purchase up-to-date equipment, train staff, conduct life-saving research, implement outreach programs and provide health care for children whose parents can’t afford to pay. More than 170 children's hospitals are affiliated with Children's Miracle Network. Visit http://www.childrensmiraclenetwork.org for more information.
Their Mission: To improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. Today, the foundation focuses on preventing birth defects and infant mortality. The March of Dimes has led the way to discover the genetic causes of birth defects, to promote newborn screening, and to educate medical professionals and the public about best practices for healthy pregnancy. We have supported research for surfactant therapy to treat respiratory distress and helped initiate the system of regional neonatal intensive care for premature and sick babies. Our recent Folic Acid Campaign achieved a dramatic reduction in the incidence of neural tube defects, birth defects of the brain and spine.

Operation Smile is a charity organization healing children's smiles, making the world a better place. More than 200,000 children are born with a severe cleft condition each year — often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In some places these children are shunned and rejected. And in too many cases, their parents can't afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a normal life. That's where we come in as an international charity providing much needed surgical services. Since 1982, Operation Smile — through the help of dedicated medical volunteers — has provided free surgeries to children around the world. As one of the most prominent children’s charities in the world and with a presence in over 60 countries, we are able to heal children’s smiles and bring hope for a better future.
