How to put the PRO

in PROCRASINATE

BY AMAIA GARATE

Intro: Recent studies, conducted by me, shows that doing stuff you don’t want to do sucks. So why bother stressing? You can always get to it later because there is no rush. Here is a stepby-step guide on how to become the best procrastinator you were born to be.

Step 1: If you are reading this book then you are off to a great start, because you realize that this dull and boring book is better than the dull and boring work you have to do. So good job, and keep that mindset as you go through your procrastination journey.

Step 2:

Your phone is your best friend. Any social media or streaming service app is there for a reason. Utilize it on your journey to get distracted from less fun stuff to do. Needed a reason to binge Avatar the Last Airbender for the fiftieth time? Well now you have it. Go ahead, watch it.

Step 3:

Become familiar with spontaneous decision-making. If you are settling down to do the dreaded task you “need” to get done, do not hesitate to run out the door if your friend so much as mentions getting ice cream. Remember, you have the time.

10

Quiz Time: If you are asked , by your friend, whether you want to watch something really dumb do you say... A) “No thanks, I got homework I need to do.” B) “FRICK YEAH” C) You don’t say anything because you are too busy doing homework If you said A then you need to work on your priorities. If you said B then you are on fire! Keep up that amazing mindset If you said C then you are a loser. Sorry but the truth hurts.

11

Step 4:

Step 4: When in doubt, take a nap, drown your worries by sleeping. If you are feeling extra rebellious, it might help to not set an alarm so you can get a couple of good hours of rest in. Trust me, you will be doing yourself a favor if you do not set that stupid alarm. It might help you to settle down and relax.

Ideas to get you started... -Learn how to yodel -Watch paint dry -Contemplate your place in the universe -Scroll through streaming service but dont actually watch anything -Ever thought about macrame? -Start a conversation with the store clerk -Talk to your mom about how stressed you are instead of solving the problem

13

Step 5:

Create a pamphlet titled, How to put the pro in procrastinate. Make sure it looks as nice as you can possibly make it. Any little tedious detail you put in there will help prevent you from doing some really sucky assignment or project.

In Conclusion

These are just some fantastic ideas that you can use to help you do the sacred practice of procrastination. You’re welcome.
