Allowing the landscape to unfold the story The island Ven, which is located in Øresund between Denmark and Sweden, is known for it’s clay and has a strong history of brick production. Therefore this assignment focusses on leng the old, original clay pit unfold the story of the production. Three pavilions The three pavilions are each ment to set a tone in a carefully selected area in the old clay pit. These spots are ment to extend the specific feeling of the spot that they are each located in. In the first pavilion on the route the depth, darkness and humidity of the clay that is highlighted. In the next it’s the height of the clay pit and in the last one it’s the view of the lake with an integrated café. These three pavilions are furthermore connected by a wooden walkway, that allows the visitor to walk through inaccessible areas of the landscape.

Sense of Shape
Movement in the installation
Communicating through motions As part of a crossdisplinary workshop with students from furniture and fashion design we - in groups - were assigned to create a combined installation and performance with the theme “Different Bodies“. In this project called Sense of Shape, we worked with the communication and interaction between people in movement. Blocking their vision, yet extending their sense of shape by leading them through layers of fabric. 12

Gradient in light and privacy Since the demolition of “The house of the people“, later functioning as the venue for autonomist groups, in 2017, the site has almost been a monument for a unique story. In this project I will introduce a way of inhabiting the space, by respectfully blending in with the surrounding buildings and context. Furthermore, by creating an optimal level of daylight and privacy in the residences to insure quality for the inhabitants.

View of the paths along the facade
Building complex and facade On Jagtvej 69 the surrounding buildings frame the site in a variaty of styles, height and organizations. What they have in common is the massivenes in material choice and form language, yet they give back to the residents with open courtyards offering room for community. In this assignment I have tried to translate some of the qualites from the surrounding buildings to a new building complex. In the facade my focus has been on the threshold between the common and private areas such as the staircases, and the shifting depth in the facade which is further articulated with terraces and paths along the facade. 18

The apartment The assignment was to design a housing complex with apartments that could function as a residence for three students or a family. The experience of the apartment begins already from the open tower constructions and the semi public paths along the facade. From here you can enter the open kitchen and living room space, which functions as the heart of the apartment. From the common area you have access to the more private bedrooms and bathroom.

Daylight study To optimize daylight levels in the apartment I integrated windows in the top part of the interior walls. The largest room including common areas is facing south and from here the daylight is supposed to be led as far to the north facade - where the more private rooms are - as possible. The interior windows are placed as high as possible to ensure privacy in all the rooms.

Integrated outdoor furniture The final part of this project was to sketch a proposal for an outdoor furniture that could gather the inhabitants. This bench is designed to function as a meeting point centered in the middle of the courtyard. The brick bench forms a circle seperated in two parts by two brick stairs. The seat and the bottom part of the bench is covered with wood panels for comfort and the bench can be used from both top and seating level, since it has been lowered from the terrain, which makes it possible to use the backrest as a seat on the backside of the bench. Internships / Practical experience Henning Larsen Design • Studio David Thulstrup • Bornholm folk high school
Concept development During my internships I have worked with concept development for a variaty of companies in different countries and scales. As part of the proces I have worked a lot with moodboards and the presentations of concepts has included choice of color and material, a selection of loose and fixed furniture and interior surfaces. Mostly with a nordic inspired sense and a strong connection to predominant trends.

Spaceplanning In my time as an intern I have worked with spaceplanning. Spaceplanning has been a big part of my work with interior projects at the studios, and I have worked with spaceplanning in both sketching and the detailed design phase. I have made a variaty of spaceplanning designs, primarily in offices and educational environments, but also in outdoor and commercial projects. The size of the projects vary from 100 sqm to 100.000 sqm.

Ceramic January till march 2018 I spend at Bornholm folk high school studying the crafts ceramic and jewelry. I attended the school to expand my knowledge with crafts to understand and appreciate the quality of these craftsmanships. During my course doing ceramics I was taught throwing and casting techniques, I had a small introduction to glazing and furthermore experimented with three different burning techniques; electric, wood fired and raku.

Jewelry design Working with jewelry I learned basic skills within jewelry design such as soldering, casting in sand molds, working with resin, refining the jewelry, and working with metal in general. We were encouraged to have a concrete idea of what we wanted to make and get as close to that idea as possible without compromising along the way to ensure that we used the right techniques. 32
