MEDIAN DESIGN The object of this section of road is to create a better sense of connectivity for pedestrian traffic while slowing vehicular traffic. Pedestrian connectivity will be given a boost by the continuation of existing sidewalk infrastructure. The installation of a raised, planted median will help slow traffic between business sections, making this stretch of road safer and more visually appealing to all passers by.

1101 MLK JR. BOULEVARD The new appearance for this site comes from the relocation of the parking lot, painting of the building facade and addition of screening structures and vegetation. Relocating the parking to the side of the building allows for more potential parking spaces while opening up the front for outdoor seating and/or plantings to make the site more hospitable. The plant suggestions offer shading and screening providing site definition and comfort. Plant large trees for shaded border Plant shrub border behind parking Add groundcovers at entrance Paint brick, sign and window frames Wooden fence around outdoor patio
