STUDIO PRACTICE Statement of Intent Name Blog Address Aggie Date 11/10/2015 a-‐mardiyah1316.blogspot.com Rationale During this module I'd like to take on projects that will propel me in the direction of my chosen future career; this way I'd be able to gain more experience and develop a portfolio that will be relevant for what I want to be doing in a few years time (Vis Dev). I would also like to take on projects that will allow me to explore my other interests outside of the animation industry and further improve my problem solving skills in this way as I believe this is a an important skill to have in the creative industry. This will further diversify my portfolio and as a result will make me more adaptable to different types of design work and make me more hirable. Themes / Subjects • Animation • Publishing • Narrative • Children • Atmosphere • Educational, informative based work • Commercial – product and packaging Products / Methods of Distribution • Children’s book • Animation • Prints/Printed products Practical Skills / Media / Formats • I will continue improving my digital painting process. • Improve understanding of colour and light • Improve understanding of form and anatomy • Improve life drawing skills • Improve traditional image making skills • Improve screen printing skills • Improve ability to paint/draw designs that strongly emphasise storytelling and personality in environments and characters.

Brief 1:

Deadline TBC The Visual Development Artist Rationale: To reinterpret an existing piece of story/play/book in the style of a feature animation. The aim of this brief is to enable me to develop a portfolio that will be relevant for what I want to be doing in a few years time (Vis Dev). It will require me to design characters, props, sets/environments etc. Brief 2: Deadline TBC Leeds Children’s Hospital: Liver Book Rationale: Continuing from the success of the first book about having a kidney transplant, Leeds Children’s hospital have asked me to work with them again to illustrate the second children’s book that they will be producing about having a liver transplant. Brief 3: Deadline TBC Damous Adventure Shop Rationale: I have been asked to create t-‐shirt designs based on the theme of ‘adventure’. This is something that quite excites me as I have a passion for travel, exploring new places, sights and going on adventures. They’ve given me the freedom to come up with anything I want, so I will use this opportunity to explore more into traditional processes such as screen-‐printing. Brief 4: Deadline TBC Illustrated Home and Kitchenware Rationale: Develop a range of Illustrated household items. I come from Indonesia but I lack knowledge of my own country since I moved at a very young age so I would like to explore into the art, history and heritage of my country and use this as inspiration for this project. Brief 5: Deadline YCN Rationale: YCN briefs challenges students from around the world to respond to a collection of live creative briefs, written each year by diverse partnering organisations. Taking on a YCN brief requires me to conduct myself more professionally, and to produce work and present them at a more professional standard. It will also push me to be more disciplined with my punctuality and time management, as they have a fixed deadline. Additional Project Proposals Daily/weekly: • 20 mins – 1 hr Plein Air Paintings • 20 mins -‐ 1 hr Digital Paintings from ref images (landscapes and film stills) • 20 mins -‐ 1 hr Gesture drawings from life • 20 mins -‐ 1 hr Still life studies
