Whether you are experienced in selling groups or are new to the business, AmaWaterways is committed to supporting you and your individual needs. With three different types of groups, each with unique selling advantages, we are ready to help you secure the group that suits your clients best.
STANDARD/AFFINITY GROUPS
CUSTOM GROUPS
GROUP POLICY:
• This applies to a group of individuals who are traveling together, are ready to book right away and have the same interests or an association to each other
• There is a minimum requirement of 5 staterooms/10 guests (restrictions apply)
• Combine retail promotions, standard group discounts and Group Amenity Points*
RECOMMENDED FOR:
• Those who have identified their client base and have connections within the local community/special interest groups
• Those who have been successful in booking multiple FITs in the past
• Those who want to market the group to people with similar interests
GROUP POLICY:
• With over 100 custom excursions to choose from, work with our Group Sales Team to select Custom Group Excursions for your group
• There is a recommended target of 10 staterooms/20 guests (prices may vary depending on group size, restrictions apply)
• Custom Group Excursions are commissionable at 10%
RECOMMENDED FOR:
• More experienced travel advisors with established groups
• Those who have a person of influence or group leader
PROMOTIONAL/SPECULATIVE GROUPS

GROUP POLICY:
• This group type is designed for individuals who are booked as a group on the same sailing, but are traveling separately
• There is a target of 5 staterooms/10 guests
• Retail promotions, group discounts and Bonus Amenity points can be combined*
RECOMMENDED FOR:
• Those who have been successful in securing FIT business in the past
• Those who are not quite sure if they can make the group minimums and need flexibility
*on select sailings
There is a $50/C$70 per stateroom initial group deposit that is fully refundable OR, if your clients are ready to book now and their names and dates of birth are available, you can reserve a stateroom and use their booking deposit as a deposit towards the group. If you choose this option, your initial group deposit is waived.
Group Sales Policies By Destination
AmaWaterways is proud to cruise to a variety of exciting regions. As such, we have broken down our group sales policies according to the destination:
EUROPE
Minimum 5 staterooms/10 guests
Group discount:
• $500/C$600 per stateroom ($250/C$300 per person) for 7-night river cruise
• $1,000/C$1,200 per stateroom ($500/C$600 per person) on 10-, 11- and 14-night river cruises
Fully refundable group deposit of $50/C$70 per stateroom
$400/C$500 per person booking deposit is required in order to guarantee a stateroom (50% non-refundable)

• 12% commission on pre- and post-land packages

Tour Conductors:

AFRICA SAFARIS & WILDLIFE CRUISES
Minimum 4 staterooms/8 guests
Group discount:
• $500/C$600 per stateroom ($250/C$300 per person)
$2,400/C$3,000 per person booking deposit is required in order to guarantee a stateroom (50% non-refundable)
Enhanced commissions:
• Up to 15% commission on the river cruise and land price
• 10% commission on insurance and extra nights
• 5% commission on intra-Africa airfare
• 5% commission on international air packages
Tour Conductors:

Getting Started
SECURE YOUR GROUP
1. Quote: Request a personalized quote and your dedicated Group Sales Specialist will follow up with a group proposal/ contract.
2. Contract: Upon receiving the signed contract, your Group Sales Specialist will assign a dedicated Group Coordinator to help you every step of the way. Your dedicated Group Coordinator will help you finalize your booking with per person pricing.
3. Deposit: Submit a fully refundable deposit, either $25/C$35 per person or $50/C$70 per stateroom. Group deposits are fully refundable. Published cancellation terms apply. All space is based on run-of-ship allocation until names and $400/C$500 per person deposit are provided.
AmaWaterways is not able to hold staterooms, so once your clients are ready to reserve a stateroom from inventory, they will need to pay their deposit of $400/C$500 per person, which is 50% refundable until 120 days prior to departure ($1,200/C$1,500 per person for Egypt or $2,400/C$3,000 per person for Africa) — based on inventory and availability. If you have a stateroom ready to book with passport names, we will waive the group deposit.

1. Log onto your Travel Advisor Portal to complete a new group form. A knowledgable representative from the Group Department will contact you within 24 business hours.
