Bugs Bunny is nonchalant, contemplative. Some people call him cocky and brash but he is actually just self-assured. Above all he is a very aware rabbit. His only goal is to avoid conflict but he can sometimes be pushed to his limit. He does not like to antagonize people unless they try to mess with his way of life and he always treats the contest with his pursuers as fun and games. He is a comedian, but he does not need to just tell jokes.

And sometimes he chomps on his carrot for the same reason that a standup comic chomps on his cigar. It saves him from rushing from the last joke to the next one too fast. And he sometimes doesn’t act, he reacts. “Let’s face it, Doc. I’ve read the script and I already know how it turns out.”
