All-day snacking is the new norm For most European consumers, three meals a day is a thing of the past. Today, it’s all about grazing as you go. In 2019, the majority of adults (59%) across 12 markets said they prefer to eat many small meals throughout the day as opposed to a few large ones - with Millennials dominating the trend (70% in agreement).1 This trend only accelerated during 2020, with consumers turning to snacks as a way to break up the monotony of remote working and provide a moment of delight.

• Nearly half (46%) of European consumers tend to choose mid-afternoon as a prime time to indulge in a snack. Modern day consumers have a busy lifestyle as they try to cram in multiple activities within the day, whether work related or personal activities.
