Human experienced the environment before they even begin to talk or write, thus they understand the space and architecture through series of experience with their room, home, street, homeland, village, and landscape. Unconsciously, human try to understand and learn their surrounding since early life and create an important memory from it. We can understand human experiences from children’s perspective through drawing by children which is a tool for them to communicate their fondest hopes and feelings. Children use series of images to express themselves since they have not been exposed to the words and still continue to use images, such as doodles or paintings, whenever they cannot articulate it with words. This paper explores Bajaunese children’s drawing to learn about their environment. From the drawings, we can see their clear perspective as the future generation of sea-gypsy and sea-protector, toward their settlement, local wisdom, and daily life.
